Norman Sikapila is a Poet popularly known as Skaps The Advocate, born and bred in Hwange. He did His primary Education at Dinde Primary School which is his rural home, under chief Nekatambe. He then went to Gebhuza High for his secondary education, he proceeded to Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic for his tertiary education, where he studied Tourism and Hospitality Management. Thereafter, he worked at the Victoria Falls Safari lodge as a waiter. Managed TN Furnitures as well as Coloursel Furnitures. In February 2015 he left his Job for Dinde. 

They say an idle mind is a dangerous mind, It did not work that way with Norman as this is when he started writing poetry. Skaps The Advocate writes in three languages, namely Nambya, Ndebele his mother’s language and in English.

He has published two Anthology titled a, Voice In The Dome: An Advocate for A Silent Nation a March 2019 publication and And Now My Heart Speaks a July 2021 publication.

He is also a contributor in a Zimbabwe Publishers Ndebele Anthology, Izinkondlo Ezinhlobonhlobo which was chosen as an O level Set book. A great achievement for him as all the poems he wrote them when he was in his rural home recharging his batteries after he left Coloursel Furnitures.

Norman also records his poetry fusing it with music in a special way. In order to cater for various Zimbabwean cultures and tastes, he does his poetry and music in different genres . He has released various singles and an Album titled Iphupho.
