Kelvin “K.B.” Bradshaw and Lloyd “Spec” Turner formed the R&B group  Basic Black, which hit the national scene in 1990 when Motown Records released their self titled album "Basic Black". Soon they were a sensation among die-hard New Jack Swing fans, with such songs as “Nothing But A Party,” "Whatever It Takes," "She's Mine," and “Special Kind of Fool.”  Fast forward to 2019, Basic Black, the remaining founding members K.B. and Spec, has recruited two new members, singer songwriters Sean Jones and Anthony Dupree. With a brand new EP titled The Resurrection, Basic Black is back and has something to say.
