I'm a composer and sound designer, and Phrase Mark Studio is where I channel my passion for storytelling through music. I specialise in creating original soundtracks, atmospheric soundscapes, and epic scores for film, video games, and visual media.

Whether it’s crafting a haunting theme for a dark fantasy world, building tension in a cinematic trailer, or layering textures for an interactive game environment, my goal is always the same: to serve the story through sound.

From the very early days of its origins and then starting to build just after the turn of the 20th Century, through to its completion in 1978 after 74 long, hard, but rewarding years, the unfolding story of this great cathedral, the largest in the whole of the UK and the fifth largest in the world, is both fascinating and quite unique. It survived 2 World Wars, periods of recession and great hardship in this once famous and important port of Liverpool to become a tribute to the dedication of a great many people and their skills. Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats is a big band based in Lymm, just outside Warrington in Cheshire, and consists of talented musicians from across the North West UK. The band has established a profile in the region and performs regularly for weddings, parties, balls and functions. In addition, the band has a reputation for innovative programming, and in particular for performing new works and reviving historical performance styles.

Swansea-based mother and daughter duo DnA: Delyth and Angharad Jenkins breath a new lease of life into the ancient music of Wales through their intimate and irresistible conversations on the harp and fiddle.

Both musicians have been at the forefront of different generations of traditional music in Wales, through bands such as Aberjaber and Calan. By joining forces to create the mother and daughter duo, DnA instantly stand out. There's a compelling and intriguing connection between the two musicians, which is achieved through that special family connection. 

Their performances have been described as "visceral and intense" (Timber and Steel blog) and "a thing of beauty" Cerys Matthews, BBC6 Music. Their debut album Adnabod, released on the fflach:tradd label in 2013, generated praise and critical acclaim, with fRoots magazine describing the album as "one of the best Welsh instrumental folk albums available, and could become a classic in its genre." In May 2018, the duo will be releasing their much anticipated second album, “Llinyn Arian.”

DnA’s aim is to give Welsh traditional music a fresh and innovative sound that avoids stereotype and cliché. Their material comes from a variety of sources. Old collections of Welsh music are a rich seam for them, and they also look in hymn books, where old Welsh tunes have been adapted or ‘hymnified’. And in the time-honoured way, they also learn tunes by ear from other musicians. They seek to re-create these old tunes, making them new and fresh.

Both musicians compose music, which they see as growing out of the Welsh tradition. The sources of our inspiration are as varied as life itself. The landscape of Wales, and most especially their native Gower, is important to them. Their new music is also inspired by and celebrates a wide range of relationships, including that of the mother and daughter. Their instrumental music conveys the emotion of these relationships where words are often inadequate.
