🎶🐉 The Music Medicine A living experience exploring, studying, and sharing diverse musical approaches and schools of thought/practice, blending tradition & modernity, spirit & reason, celebration & meditation.

Founded by ethnomusicology researcher, music therapist, musician, composer & DJ, Dimitri Dermentzioglou, The Music Medicine uses music as a tool to awaken creativity, potential, and connection, educate about music and its history, bring people and cultures together, and foster harmony & joy.

Rooted in indigenous and plant medicine rituals in Brazil, inspired by the symbol “YAO” 藥 (Medicine + Music in pre-Chinese language), and enriched through contact with Sufism and spiritual traditions around the world, the project is a living school of medicinal music, exploring its science, mysticism, and transformative power.

Through sound, music, dancing, chanting, ritual, and celebration, The Music Medicine facilitates safe spaces for expression, personal development, and collective well-being.

From The Music Medicine grew The Ministry of Music Medicine (MOMM), a temple of music, ritual & community.

I have been so fortunate to see an unimaginable amount of hearts and feet move to the beat, in spaces I have hosted for a moment or for years.

Now my mission is to walk slow.  Pay tribute to Mother Earth through offering healing, joy and peace to hearts and minds alike. 
To make up for erroneous ways and past mistakes.

A modern Alchemist of life, defender of the true essence of celebration and manifestor of harmony. Artist - Writer - Dj - Musician & Music Therapist Dimitrios, is carrying an extensive career shared in 3 continents of the world (Greece, Brazil & Turkey) for over 17 years.

His sound and musical knowledge are versatile and innovative as they travel beyond expectations and into a great variety of rhythmic and melodic forms that embrace the plurality of this world or even others as well.

His eclectic taste, sensitivity and ability to stir emotions made him perform his music in a diverse of events always delivering the same quality.
From residencies at historical Venue & Bo of Athens/Greece to resident Dj and sound director of Tikal Praia Bar at the beaches of Bahia/Brazil for 4 continuous years.

From sharing stage with the legendary band Azymuth at Jaguars House to international art fair Bienal, the recipe was always the same. Sharing the Medicine of Music (as he calls it) pure... as it comes from the heart.

Since 2014, Dimitrios has expanded his craft by studying the Healing effects of music, giving Music Therapy sessions to individuals and groups, organizing events of Conscious Celebration, Wellness Events and sharing the hidden truth of Music as a Medicine for all conditions and disorders, through his project @the-music-medicine

In the year 2018, Dimitrios has created his world fusion band, under the same name of The Music Medicine. A band that communicates the philosophy of the usage of Music as a tool of Harmony and Enjoyment through performances that embrace Meditation & Celebration and talk the different languages that come from the heritage of its multi-ethnic musicians.
