Watching Big Syphe win over a crowded club with his irresistible mix and irrepressible personality, it’s hard to imagine there was a time when the Los Angeles-native was too shy to tell people he was a DJ. He made mix tapes for friends in junior high while secretly sharpening his turntable technique for the stage. Syphe says he was waiting for the right moment to unveil his hidden talent at one of the infamous backyard parties that were a major part of his high school experience. “In my neighborhood, you were either a DJ or in a party crew that was loyal to a certain DJ,” he says. “I didn’t tell people that I was a DJ because I was more interested in getting on stage and proving it.” He passed the test, graduating from backyards to Hollywood clubs, which is where he met Eric D-Lux, a fellow DJ. They produced break beats together that were popular among DJs at clubs and radio stations, and later earned national airplay with their remix album Buko Breaks Vol 1-3. 

For their next collaboration, they took over the city’s airwaves as hosts of the afternoon radio show on KPWR Power 106 Los Angeles, one of the nation’s top stations. Listeners driving home from work tuned into The Traffic Jam for six years to hear Syphe and Eric mix the day’s hottest hits live on the air. The duo also used the show to champion emerging talent, offering early support to artists like LMFAO and Far East Movement. “We did whatever we could to help break the artists we believed in,” he says. In fact, many Los Angelenos first discovered Lady Gaga through Syphe’s remix of her first single, “Just Dance.” Over the years he’s also remixed tracks by Enrique Iglesias (“Taking My Love,”) La Roux (“Bulletproof”) and Pitbull (“Hey Baby/Give Me Everything.”) 

The road to Syphe’s recent breakthrough was paved years ago by a chance conversation he had at concert meet and greet. “I was talking to a woman and I mentioned that I really liked Pitbull, who was opening that night,” he recalls. “She said: ‘Wait right here, I’ll bring him over. That’s my son, Armando.’ He and I have stayed in touch ever since.” Seven years later, when Pit needed a DJ for his world tour, he called on Syphe. 

During his two years on the road with the international star, Syphe performed around the globe and made high-profile appearances on the Latin Grammy Awards, Super Bowl Halftime Show, Today Show and Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve. “Watching Pit evolve from opening act into Mr. Worldwide has definitely inspired me to step up my game,” Syphe says. 

Touring solo now, Syphe performs regularly at clubs and festivals, including a recent stop in Brazil where the only thing standing between him and a crowd of 50,000 was a pair of Technics SL-1200 turntables. “It was crazy looking out at that many people and remembering those backyard parties,” he says. When he’s not on the road, Syphe spends much of his time in the studio remixing and producing music for a growing list of artists. Earlier this year, he also began producing music for Pitbull’s record label, Mr. 305 Inc. The move, Syphe says, puts him one step closer to realizing his lifelong ambition. 

“Whether I’m DJ’ing in Johannesburg, Beirut or Tokyo, certain songs always flood the dance floor,” he says. “For me, the ultimate dream is to produce a classic like that and then get a chance to play it everywhere so I can watch the world dance to my song.”

Jorge Branco aka Dj White, iniciou a sua carreira como Dj profissional/residente no inicio da década de 80 embora, ainda em finais dos anos 70, tenha animado inumeras festas de garagem , em plena era "Disco-Sound", pré-New Wave. As "velhinhas" cassetes e o vinil (mais os albúns e os singles que os maxis, estes, ainda pouco comercializados em Portugal) dominavam as cabines dos Djs. Os pratos com pitch eram "mentira", embora lá por fora aparecessem os primeiros modelos do lendário Technics 1200. Por estas alturas, o CD ainda fazia parte da ficção cientifica. 
   *As noites torrejanas de então (77, 78 e 1979), eram lideradas pela discoteca Bobs, casa pequena (cabia integralmente na pista de dança da actual Emotion) mas com muita "alma" e onde decorreram alguns dos melhores concursos de dança da região.  Dj Mafra e Jorge Miguel, eram os Djs de serviço, apresentando ao público torrejano algumas reliquias importadas através de "mão amiga" por Alfredo Serra (o gerente). Foi aqui, bem como no Dom Papagaio de Mira d´Aire (outra casa marcante para toda uma geração), que Dj White tomou conhecimento com as sonridades Disco e Funky que chegavam tanto de Inglaterra como dos USA. Village People, Kool & the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire e Michael Jackson (quando ainda era negro), escutados e dançados em primeira mão. Foi também neste espaço que Jorge Branco deu os seus primeiros passos como Dj (de discoteca), com uma mesa de mistura e dois "pratos" na cabine, mesmo sem o tal pitch.  
  Depois de uma passagem pela já extinta Galáxia (no Entroncamento e verdadeiramente a primeira "coisa" parecida com uma discoteca a sério na região), inaugura a 10 de Junho de 1983, a Discoteca Fame Club em Torres Novas, onde permanece como residente até ao inicio dos Anos 90. Apesar do seu tamanho (era de facto de pequena dimensão, embora não muito mais que outras existentes actualmente na região) tinha uma cabine de luxo para aqueles tempos, apresentando os primeiros Technics SL-1210 Mk2 no distrito de Santarém. Finalmente era possível começar a "misturar" a sério, algo até então impensável.
  Pelo meio (em 1984/85) é também Dj convidado na extinta Pim Pim em Tomar, outra das discotecas marcantes da década de 80 no distrito de Santarém. No inicio dos Anos 90 e após a sua saida da Fame Club, Dj White é convidado para residente no Lagar, na Golegã, onde permanece pouco mais de 1 Ano. Em 1993, inicia uma nova etapa na sua carreira, na lendária Swing no Entroncamento, onde permanece como residente até à data de encerramento desta casa.    Nesta enorme casa (enorme não só pela sua dimensão como também na influência na noite ribatejana), partilhou a cabine com Djs Nacionais de referência, como Dj Vibe, X-Man aka Mário Roque, Dj Jiggy, Luis e Paulo Leite, The Fox, Miguel Simões e muitos outros. 
   Segue-se no mesmo espaço e a abrir o Ano 2000, a KO, casa que pouco mais de 6 meses após a sua abertura sofre um duro revés, com um incidente infeliz, de todos conhecido. Este incidente, acaba por afectar definitivamente o seu futuro, apesar de todo o empenho da sua equipa profissional. 
De saída da  KO, Dj White regressa a Torres Novas, ingressando na Destilaria, onde permanece cerca de 1 Ano. Após esse periodo, em 2001/2002, é também residente em Lisboa, no Cool Café, na antiga Expo. 
  A 27 de Dezembro de 2002, inaugura em Torres Novas, a Discoteca Emotion, onde permanece até à data. 
Ao longo da sua residência na maior discoteca de Torres Novas, tem o prazer de trabalhar com alguns músicos, cantores e Djs de topo mundial como Robin S, Kim Cooper, Jaba, Gary Nesta Pine, Juan Magan, Bodytalk, Hallux, Sebastian Gamboa, Massivedrum, Maddox, Oskar Dj, Tommy Guitar, La Mouche, Nelson Freitas e muitos outros.

Good Times, com o melhor dos Anos 70, 80 e 90, às noites Latinas, Passagens de Ano e Carnaval, passando pelo House (+ ou - comercial consuante o tipo de público presente), Dj White é um Dj versátil, procurando ir ao encontro dos gostos do grande público, através da experiência e conhecimentos musicais adquiridos ao longo de mais de 4 décadas de carreira.

 A native to Los Angeles, Leonard "LennyG" Gonzalez influenced by his uncles began DJing at the young age of 10 and has been rocking the night club industry both locally and internationally for the past 27 years with his Open Format style of both the English and Spanish market. 

BIO: 

LennyG started from the ground up at the age of 13 doing private events such as weddings, birthday parties, etc. where he then entered his first DJ battle at the age of 16 combining the hip hop influences of tricks and scratching enhancing his musical skills.    


In the late 90's Lenny worked as manager of Glendale's very own Astro Records; DJing at various all age events and LA's underground Hard House party scene. From there he was given the opportunity to work under DJ Irene at the #1 All Ages Night Club Arena and Circus Disco in Hollywood.


Early ’00 Lenny worked with DJ Hideo mentor and Mixshow coordinator for 100.3 The Beat as his assistant. With the help and guidance from Hideo Lenny was fortunate to get hired at LA's urban hip-hop station  "100.3 The Beat"  and was given the opportunity to be an on air mixer for the "Friday Night Beat Down" weekend Mixshow along with the Morning Show with John Sally.


In 2006 after a format change with 100.3 The Beat, Lenny moved over with the help of DJ Eddie One and began working at Latino 96.3, now under the name of Mega 96.3 where he began in promotions and worked his way to be an On Air Mixer for the Weekends, Mega Morning Show, and now the Afternoon Mix show every Monday - Friday.
