Shawn Smoothe is preparing to drop a lyrical bomb on Toronto's Rap arena. With a heavy dose of passion, ambition and drive this hard-working artist is one to keep your eye on.
 
2007 revealed Shawn's talent via a definitive interest and aptitude in poetry through his poems, spoken word performances & collaborating on writing songs with his peers. Shawn found himself engaging in studio sessions at numerous different studios where he learned the foundations in recording, producing and songwriting over a 6 year period. Putting a hold on his passion, Shawn refocused his time and energy on education studying towards a business degree, only to drop out in 2012 after his mother passed away and realizing how short life can be and that he should focus on what is most important to him. Shawn is back with a vengeance as he asserts himself as the “smoothest out”.
 
In 2014, Shawn had a phenomenal year where his artistry was concerned. He ascended on a performance spree at some of Toronto’s premier venues; The Virgin Mod Club, El Mocambo, Revival, and WrongBar to name just a few. With 20+ gigs under his belt Shawn had made his mark and wrapped up the year by organizing a citywide tour promoting his self released mixtape “It Just Came To Me”.
 
2015 & 2016 saw Shawn expand his network, his fan base and his reach as he embarked on journeys to Miami and Los Angeles. Thereafter, Shawn refocused on a three city tour which found him travelling to Montreal, Ottawa and his native Toronto promoting a collaborative mixtape with Dazzler entitled “15 Fort York” which he dropped in the Spring of 2016.
 
Shawn draws his inspiration from everyday life, his ideals, personal experiences, family, friends and role models. His immediate intent is to create an escape for those caught up in the everyday life and to connect with and motivate people to do more than just have dreams, but to be their own director and turn those dreams into reality.
 
His game plan hasn’t changed. Shawn stands true to his business model, following up with a series of upcoming mixtapes and projects scheduled for release... he looks forward to proving his artistry and representing his city on a global scale. With Shawn’s melodic flows, articulate word play and conscious colloquialisms, he makes sure people know what he brings to the table.
