Soul Candi started out as a record shop in vinyl DJing’s heyday, and it was where like-minded DJs from across the country would converge to hear and buy the latest, tastiest house tracks. The store became a focal point for house proponents of the caliber of DJ Fresh, Oskido, Euphonik and many more. But despite the presence of these big personalities, everyone was welcome, and the beats were a treat. As house music became THE sound of South Africa, the business grew and Soul Candi started making the most popular tunes available to everybody via their range of cool compilation CDs. Now the nation could own what the best DJs were playing on the airwaves and in the clubs. Now Soul Candi has a new mission statement: it’s been re-coded as an all-encompassing media house – which ironically takes the company back to its roots: sharing the best house music the world has to offer.

Personal life
SONWABO Kaizer Thusi, professionally known as DJ Sonic is a multi-talented Dj and a Producer based in Emdeni in Soweto. 
He was born in the talent-filled and history-rich township of Emdeni, in Soweto; Johannesburg. His career started at a tender age of 14 years. In 2003, he realised that his passion (Dj and Producing) was a force to be reckon with. Having being inspired by the likes of Dj Bradley, the late Fana ‘Khabzela’ Mkhize and the whole Y-FM revolution of the 90’s, his 12 years exposure to the music scene/industry has seen him learning to deejay and ultimately producing quality sounds of his own. 
Dj Sonic also runs his own entertainment company called Supersonic Entertainment. It caters for Sound Hire Services and Events Promotions.
 His ultimate drive is:

•	To becoming one of the leading Djs that the Mzansi scene (South African scene) has 	to offer.
•	To keep promoting local talent through the gift of his craft.
•	 He wants the same talents to be able to be collaborated with established industry 	players.
•	To produce music that reflects their experiences  
•	To expose his work to the international market by participating and associating 	himself with international events.

His experience includes playing alongside the cream of the crop in the South African industry namely: Local Dj Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, Black Coffe, Dj China Man, Culoe The Song, Dj Ganyani, Dj QT, Dj Claude, Dj China, Dj Mbuso, Dj Soul T, The Naked Dj, Dj Pepsi and Giggs Superstar.
