Vantress "El Kardi" Carter was born in Centreville, Il. He began writing and recording at the age of 15. By 2006 El Kardi began to take his art seriously. He realized that music was his true passion. His talent for creating was soon recognized by his friends and family. Collectively they agreed Kardi's music could easily become mainstream if the opportunity presented itself. Teaming up with producer StaBizzy and the Kapu Records company he began to hone in and focus on his gift with hits like "Im On it" and "104Bars-Freestyle".

He has performed a showcase at POPS as the head liner in Sauget, IL with other events lined up in Illinois and St. Louis, Mo. His goal is to provide for his family and share with the world his gift. His ultimate goal is to become a renown young leader within the hip-hop industry and help open the doors for other talented artist in the MidWest by allowing them to become features on his selections or to be a feature on their music for which to help them to expand their craft.
