There are records you listen to—and others you live in.

This fourteenth volume of my Collection belongs to the latter category: a suspended musical space, where the heart beats slowly and every note seems to brush against the skin. This second installment of the "Love Edition" series embraces the right to slow down. It continues to explore slowness not just as a style, but as a state of soul.

This new journey takes root in the orchestral velvet of the 1960s: Stan Getz, Henry Mancini—masters of breath and restraint. The first stop evokes seaside strolls at dusk, when the air is warm and emotions linger in golden light. Echoes of romantic cinema from that era resound here—films where love is felt more than explained.

Then the wind shifts. The tempo slows even more, touched by salt and sunlight. Brazil appears in backlight, with the languid bossa of Bebel Gilberto, whose chords ripple like water on skin.

Soon, the mix diverges: horizons broaden, styles converge, eras embrace. We travel from Brazilian beaches to New York's dimly lit clubs, from childhood memories to future loves. This gentle lethargy is continually stirred by bursts of modernity. Sharada Shashidhar, Eloise, and Sam Wills bring a touch of neo-soul—sometimes hazy, sometimes visceral.

Here, languor never means boredom: it’s tension, anticipation, caress, vertigo. We drift—slowly but surely—between buried memories and futuristic harmonies. Bowie makes a cosmic cameo, Pink Floyd unfurls its dreamy haze, and Billie Eilish concludes the journey in weightlessness. As with the previous volume, the edit has been crafted down to the last detail, preserving the balance between surprise and continuity. I made sure each transition feels like a caress, each rupture an invitation.

This new volume extends the emotion of Collection 009 (the first “Love Edition”), while transcending it and mapping out new shores. Between rarities and classics, between jazz, soul, bossa, and psychedelia, this soundtrack was made to be played during the sweltering heat of summer days. This new “Love” edition isn’t an invitation to dance—but to let go. To live slowness as an art form, to savor love like a heady wine. Take your time—each track was chosen like a word in a love letter.

Roberto Lodola is an Italian DJ, composer, and record producer with over forty years of career, today well established in the Ibiza music scene, where he performs both as a resident and guest in iconic venues such as Pikes, Café del Mar, Kumharas, Sunset Ashram, Ibiza Sonica, Ibiza Global Radio, and many more. A pioneer of Afro-Funky-Disco and an untiring innovator, already in the early 1980s he introduced in Italy new contaminations from Afrobeat, Funk, Disco, Balearic, and World Music, collaborating with international artists and releasing tracks featured in compilations alongside legends such as James Brown and Marvin Gaye. With his eclectic sets and productions, Lodola continues to merge tradition and innovation, telling the story of more than four decades of musical exploration: from Disco, Funk, Afro, and World Music to the latest trends in Afro House, Organic House, and Electronic sounds.
