Inspired by the loading dock sign of an empty fiberglass factory in upstate NY, the album Northeast is intended as an ode to the Blue Collar North. It explores down-and-out cities, abandoned farms, rural poverty, substance abuse, resilience, heartbreak, and hope - all things the Northeast shares with the rest of Blue Collar America, except that it also happens to be a lot colder.

Alt-country singer/songwriter/fiddler Sara Milonovich and her band, Daisycutter, fuse a cinematic city view with a bracing dose of rural realism into “…a deft mix of literate folk, plaintive balladry, and plenty of modern-day ass kicking.” Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, these roots music veterans showcase Sara’s songwriting with a mix of lyrical directness and instrumental firepower. Known for accompanying such luminaries as Pete Seeger and Richard Shindell, Sara also stands-in as a featured violinist with the hit Broadway musical, “Come From Away.” An upstate NY farm girl, she founded Rootstock, a festival dedicated to NY farm disaster relief.
