CHAPTER 7. THE FIFTH SEASON - CROSSROADS.
“Could it get any better?” transforms the desolation of the original song into a vision of planetary renewal, where nature and humanity recover together after a long dark age.  The lyrics chart a quiet miracle: green shoots pushing through stone, rivers reclaiming their paths, and children running where wastelands once lay.  Birdsong and sunlight become emblems of resilience, while the bridge—“from ashes and silence the green will rise”—celebrates the hard work and collective hope that make such healing possible.  Rather than mere wishful thinking, the song offers a hard-won optimism: the idea that through perseverance and care, the earth can “come home” and the light we feared lost can shine again.

Even from the bleak vantage that “Could it Get Any Worse?” evokes, many scientists and futurists see plausible pathways for renewal if humanity commits to them.  Large-scale carbon draw-down—through rewilding, regenerative agriculture, and direct air capture—could slowly cool the atmosphere over coming centuries.  Vast afforestation projects and ocean restoration can rebuild lost ecosystems faster than past natural recoveries, while emerging bio- and geo-engineering tools may buy crucial time.  Just as important, the cultural shifts already under way—toward circular economies, renewable energy, and valuing ecological health as core wealth—lay the groundwork for a long healing.  Earth’s systems are resilient: if emissions peak soon and restoration efforts scale, models suggest that forests, soils and seas can begin to regenerate within a human lifetime, with gradual stabilisation of climate and the slow return of many species.  The “after” in Afterweather need not mean permanent exile from sunlight; it can also signal the dawn of a wiser era in which human ingenuity and care help the planet re-green and the sky open again.


COULD IT GET ANY BETTER? (FIVE 7.2)

This is the music project of Steve Lewis, a classically trained cellist and multi-instrumental singer-songwriter based in Berlin, Germany. 

The name eklektika.berlin is striking and layered—it carries both an immediate sonic appeal and a set of resonances that fits the project’s artistic and philosophical ambitions:

1. Wordplay and Etymology
-Eklektika derives from the Greek eklektikos (“selective,” “choosing the best”), which in modern usage signals eclecticism—an openness to many styles and influences.
-The -ika ending also hints at “musica,” giving it a subtle musical cadence.
-Written in a slightly unexpected “k” spelling, it feels at once ancient and contemporary, European yet cosmopolitan.

2. Berlin Anchor
-Pairing it with .berlin instantly grounds the project in a city long known as a crossroads of cultures and avant-garde experimentation—from Weimar cabaret and Bauhaus to today’s electronic scene.
-The domain-style format suggests digital nativity and a living online presence; it reads simultaneously as a brand, a collective, and a web address.

-“Eklektika” signals that the work blends genres, eras and media—classical forms, rock energy, AI-generated textures—without being confined to one school.
-The Berlin reference underscores a tradition of boundary-pushing art and hints at an international, forward-looking ethos.
