Mel has had and interest in music from a very young age it has always been a dream of hers to work in the music industry in some capacity. Over a decade ago she decided to learn the art of DJing. With her determination and hard work she managed to become competent behind the decks.
Mel's passion for music has seen her career develop from small club brands two more renowned clubs all over the UK. Not only is Mel low D immensely talented as a DJ with incredible crowd reading, set building and track selection skills hey energy behind the decks is a joy to witness. 
Mel is a multi genre DJ who enjoys all types of dance music, her main styles can be described as House, Electro and Drum n Bass.

Once there were three.

The Son(s) released their self-titled album with Olive Grove in 2011 to much critical acclaim (thank you Drowned in Sound). 

The subsequent ten track mini LP, ‘Leviathan', recorded overwinter in an empty Edinburgh tenement, is a thing of real beauty and includes The List single of the month ‘If I Hear You Talk Apostrophes Again’ - “untrammelled DIY glam-strop” - (kudos Nicola Meighan).

The Son(s) second album, 'The Things I Love Are Not at Home' followed in 2014, which included collaborations with SAY Award winner RM Hubbert and Pete MacDonald (Randolph's Leap/State Broadcasters) and single ‘Death, With Castanets’ - “a giddy, all-too-brief slice of bookish, psychedelic pop”.

In 2018 & 19 a new line up of The Son(s) played several low-key shows supporting the likes of Kathryn Joseph, Randolphs Leap & RM Hubbert in Glasgow & Edinburgh - road testing a new set of songs. These songs are due to make up a new Son(s) LP, due to trouble your ears sometime before the apocalypse hits in the early 2020’s.

PS Recordings is a high quality, low budget recording studio located in Colne, Lancashire, UK. Recordings take place in our attic studio with a warm, comfortable setting and a lovely scenic view of Pendle Hill.

We offer full tracking, mixing, and mastering sessions, from single songs to full albums. We also do mixing and mastering only sessions. We will work with any type of music from pop to rock to metal to indie.

With experienced Engineer/Producer/Musician (Fruitless Forest, SAY & Gaunt Story) Karl Francis at the desk along with some great equipment, your songs are sure to sound great once we've finished with them!

Karl Adam Francis began his songwriting career under the "Fruitless Forest" moniker in 2010. Fruitless Forest was originally intended as a solo recording project in Karls bedroom in his hometown of Colne, Lancashire but quickly blossomed in to a live 5 piece outfit once Karl signed his first record deal in 2012. Today, Karl showcases his music as a solo performer, dropping jaws at shows with his colorfully charming, upbeat yet haunting melodic nu-folk style. 

In a similar vein to the ever-growing bands such as Bon Iver, The National, S. Carey and Daughter, Fruitless Forest appeals greatly to most music lovers.
