We are glad to announce the birth of Fonogrammi Particolari, a new record label based in Milan whose main goal is to reissue old school Italo classics in their original form but backed with brand new edits and remixes. The first issue is this essential cover version of Material's noisy disco classic “Take A Chance” made popular by Mr. Flagio and originally released in 1983 by the Squish label. This cult track appears on the A side in its original form and on the B side in re-edited and reworked form by Fred Ventura and Paolo Gozzetti aka Italoconnection. Enjoy the old and new sound of Mr. Flagio!

You Were Right

Former Bar25 resident, acclaimed DJ and producer and Sender Records boss Benno Blome is back with a brand new EP that features two of his originals and two fine remixes from Okain Haus and Mihai Popoviciu.
Benno Blome is a boundary pusher who always diversifies with each new release and every DJ set. He has put out great EPs like Braitbendnoodles and the opulent after-hour head-movie "Eramina" and here impresses with a deep and infectious house sound. 
Opener Abotha is a nice and steamy cut with soulful pads layered up over soft rubber beats. Little melodic hooks pull you in and vocal murmuring add a steamy sense of human emotion. 

Romanian Mihai Popoviciu has had great success either solo or with the likes of Jay Bliss and has released on labels including Fear Of Flying, Hudd Traxx, Bang Bang and Diynamic. His remix here is slightly more uptempo and slick, with simmering and shimmying chords rolling over the face of the infectious beats. 

Also remixing is Frenchman Okain, who is a Fabric and Watergate regular and who puts out music on BPitch Control, Cadenza and many others. His version of Abotha is more tech, stripped out and freewheeling, with airy hi hats and thin synth lines meandering about to really hypnotise mind, body and soul. 

Benno’s other original is LED, another syrupy, gloopy, perfectly soft and inviting, warm and romantic house groove with gentle synth stabs, smeared pads and lots of late night soul in its bones. Great vocals again act as a nice human hook and it doesn’t take much to imagine the floor going wild for this one. Once again then Benno Blome proves he is a talented producer with many great ideas and more than the skills to pull them off.

Jet Hammer is Valencia's Nacho Marco (Loudeast Rec, Om, Pacha,…) and singer Garen Moreno from LA. They met at a very fancy cocktailparty on Rodeo Drive last year and after two bottles of Dom Pérignon they went to a friend´s studio and composed "She Knows" and "The Sound" straight away. They sent them to King DJ at Regalia the following day, who didn't have to think long and signed'em immediately.

"She Knows" is a very laid back electropop jam that takes influence from pioneers like Depeche Mode as well as from more modern stuff like perhaps Hot Chip f.e. Garen's voice is velvetty soft and has a very soothing quality. It's music, Jim. "The Sound" is even more relaxed and the perfect aftersummer soundtrack. It sort of reminds us of The Style Council's "Long Hot Summer", with its TR-808 kickin' away gently as if it's decided to behave like sundaymorning surf at low tide. Hot.

On remix duty, first we've got Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca. Daniele doesn't need an introduction, we presume. This legendary dj invented what many often call the cosmic sound, and was resident dj at the legendary Italian club of the same name. DJ Rocca (Ajello, Erodiscoteque, Crimea X,…) is not exactly a newcomer either. Check out these guys' full CD Podalirius on Nang if you haven't already, 'cause it's truly a masterpiece, as is this remix, an exquisite italic electrogroove making good use of the great vocals. Very classy, and exactly up to the high standard we would expect from these guys.

Further more, there's labelboss King DJ himself, cutting up the vocals to deliver a moody, warm and organic discomix for The Sound. And then there's the deep and techy classic club house remix by Eddie Torres. We don't know much about him, except that he's supposed to be part of a triplet, hails from East L.A. and has been a very close friend to King DJ for quite some time.

Regalia Recordings is stepping up to the plate with this one, that's safe to say.

Disco Modernism records is proud to announce the return to action of now legendary Italo producers Francesco Rago and Gigi Farina, who released during the first part of the 80's several cult disco records under different alias as Atelier Folie, 'Lectric Workers, Expansives, Message From The Future, Wanexa and Decadance. Now, after 30 years since the original release, On And On (Fears Keep On) is been re-produced by the Italoconnection team in collaboration with Rago and Farina with the addition of female vocalist Vik. The result is a completely new refreshed version but still true to the moody and unique dark spirit of the original.
To enrich the packaging there are 3 essential remixes created by the great and respected danish dj-producer Flemming Dalum, by the very talented italian producer Sandro Codazzi and by underground cult dj's Leo Mas and Fabrice. The release is strictly limited to 300 double vinyl copies, the digital release will include the additional Italoconnection instrumental mix.
