Everyone’s favourite bangin’ Brisbane duo X CLUB. ready up four typically in your face cuts of driving, textured techno on 1Ø PILLS MATE that have us dreaming of giant warehouses and sweaty hugs. Channeling big rave energy from grime, electro and breaks - and ultimately using this influence to texture their heavy sound - the pair take inspiration from the 90’s rave movement and contemporary experimental artists.

‘Turning A Blind Eye To This Nonsense’ delivers on the escapism it promises, staying true to the driven aesthetic that the duo have become known for; sirens blaring, deep atmospherics and uncompromising rave. Fellow Australian Mutant Joe is enlisted on ‘Silo’ - an acid dipped techno-electro workout spawned from the depths of hell.

The record's biggest moments arrive on ‘Beta Rays’, where both the artist's interest in sound design and sonic engineering across their respective solo projects really shines across 8 minutes of cinematic rave. Managing to capture the nostalgic rave feeling that Bicep’s ‘Glue’ channelled to roaring success, X CLUB. serve up an emotionally-driven journey that is destined to dominate sound systems around the globe.

Their UK influence is felt most heavily on ‘300mpbs’ (½ of the duo, Benedict Clarke, is actually from Bristol); a gnarly cut of snarling drum & bass influenced breaks that is sure to incite a gun-finger trigger rush in the club.

G TOWN RECORDS returns in style with a sophomore release from Brisbane’s finest - X CLUB. Following on from enthralling electro and techno EPs on Steel City Dance Discs and 1Ø Pills Mate respectively, the pair show their full deck of cards with ‘NOW OR NEVER’, a four track representation of driving top down in the pouring rain. 

Having risen up through the ranks of Brisbane’s colourful club scene, Ben and Jesse’s electric pairing has offered up some of electronic music’s freshest tracks in the past year; these four being picked straight from the root, pressed directly to wax and straight to your doorstep via Galway City. 

We kick off with ‘Concentrate’; an unrelenting rolling mesh of drums and tense vocals that culminate to X CLUB’s almost signature UK break sound that doesn’t skimp in intensity. Following on from that we’re met with one of the most in demand tracks of the past year following constant radio and club play, ‘Inna Trance’; an audio representation of a noughties donk and trance fan’s Las Vegas wedding gone wrong. 

We flip to the B side where the aptly titled ‘SPORTS THAT REQUIRE PETROL’ takes us back to the gym for a performance enhanced drum workout before drowning us in pads and letting us up for air as we approach the emotional crescendo that is the final track. ‘Elevation’ sees the listener don their best Ryan Gosling-esque driving gloves before embarking on a rain soaked journey to finish the job; it really is NOW OR NEVER. 

GTOWN002 stamps X CLUB’s place among the elites right now and certifies G TOWN RECORDS as a label not to be ignored going forward into a brave new world.

Today we premiere a track from one of Ireland's fastest rising up and coming music producers, Dylan Fogarty. His contribution to the Canadian based PHTM VA is a solid, funky and bouncy techno track that focuses on getting the most out of a select few stripped back elements.

Dublin based DJ and producer Dylan Fogarty has been making a name for himself of late, most notably with an impressive string of self releases on his Soundcloud that has garnered support from a number of artists. Some of which include Tommy Holohan, Kettama and Dustin Zahn.

Picking up gigs in Fibber's Basement courtesy of LOST, and Bow Lane from Somewhere Else, as well as appearing on London based AAJA radio it's clear that Dylan is only getting started on his musical journey and you can expect to hear much more from him in the near future.

Dylan's contribution to the PHTM various artists compilation joins him alongside 13 other artists from all across the globe showcasing their signature sounds. In this case, 'Problem Solved' is a grooving techno track filled with funk while not trying to overcomplicate the mix or overall composition.
