You've probably heard of people calling themselves deejays. You've seen and heard people like that on different stages and shows. Just playing music is one thing but a few of those men and women really understand the meaning of putting a show to the level that you can enjoy and dance even if you are alone or if you are infiltrated into the crowd of thousands. By his performance and selection he definitely is one of those extremes that can rock every stage and every soul. His inspiration, imagination and enthusiastic relation to the music makes him a believer that is catching his dream. Performing and his passion is what overflows you with a fever in his sound and simply makes you move.

ABOUT

After all this years in the music and entertainment business he can easily be called a hall of fame member of pioneers in slovenian underground, house and dance scene. but he strictly refuses that. »Pioneers are those who have been there from the begining. I was there in the begining and have learned a lot from our grandmasters letting me grew up with music and sound in my soul and heart.«

At any moment he belongs on the list of top slovenian dj's. In the flaud of digital youngsters and offsprings maybe not so much by reputation but definitely by his sense for effect in performence. 

With awareness that in life we are trying to improve ourselves, that we are learning and developing our qualities and seeking new routes to express ourselves, he is constantly accepting new challenges in music. His inspiration, imagination and enthusiastic relation to the music makes him a believer that is catching his dream. Performing and his passion is what overflows you with a fever in his sound and simply makes you move. His love and respective relation to the music is responding in his sets. His effective touch to the sound is the reason that the audience is accepting so well.

As the name of Robinsons servant Friday reflects loyalty, his relation to music is expressed in his name. As sense of his second name stands behind means to hear, to be heard and reputation, the mixture of those two names is excactly his relation and response to his performance. He always wanted to serve music never the music to serve him. 


BIO

Simon, alias Saturday, was introduced to his mother, the nature and the whole world, already with a smile on his face, at the very end of 1970's. Born on the sixth day of the week, he grew up with music and sound in his soul and heart. 
After clashing with various music challenges from the mid 90's and with all the experiences and decibels, he took on his way he stepped back to the sound he knew best in 2002. After that his trip was climbing up. He performed on all main club stages in his nearness and has toured through North & Southern Europe. He retired from music industry couple of times, but after knowing how it is having about 150 gigs a year, you know your business well and you don't forget how to »ride a bycicle«. After all his fingers just can not sleep. RE:BIRTH of all the projects it is new era start in the line. Production, »IT'S SATURDAY« weekly podcasts, establishing a new ambitious crew and many other he has his hand on, are just what he had in his mind for all those years. 
Simon considers himself to be a kind of a dreamer, and that is the way he imagined how artist should be like when he was in youth. He says for himself: »Music is fun to me, and making people having fun is my goal and pleasure«. Some time ago I figured out that the only place to practice is to do it above the dance floor; that's the only practice & experience that counts. When I drive the crowd to ecstasy with music, I feel close to God. I think I don't have to rush my life, because I enjoy what I'm doing. 

HOUSE FM, RADIO SALOMON, SUGAR HONEY, PREPARTY and other organisations or collaborations he was involved in, are the past, now it's time for something RE:FLEXIBLE.

In need to do some laundry in music now is the time and opportunity.

Desert Dwellers is a pioneering electronic music project that bridges the ancient and the future, fusing deep bass, world instrumentation, and psychedelic textures into immersive sonic journeys. Founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, the project grew out of the legendary Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of Southern California and Santa Fe, New Mexicos desert rave scene. 

Blending influences from many genres, Desert Dwellers has released dozens of albums and remixes, toured across five continents, and collaborated with an eclectic array of artists from around the world. Their music has graced stages at Symbiosis, Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man, resonating with audiences through both meditative journeys and powerful dancefloor experiences.

In 2026, Desert Dwellers will enter its most significant evolution yet. Co-founder Amani Friend will be stepping away from touring to focus on studio production and other creative pursuits, while a new collaborator joined the project, acclaimed producer and mixing/mastering engineer Sarkis Mikael. While continuing to honor the project’s signature sound and ethos “Music Beyond Borders,” Desert Dwellers is now expanding into bold new sonic territories. Sarkis, with releases on respected labels like Sol Selectas, Saisons, and Hoomidaas, brings a fresh creative spark and deep musical integrity.
