Rui G. 's musical path starts off like that of many DJs of our days, looking for their place in the sun. What distinguishes him is his insatiable research and desire to explore different horizons of electronics, to overcome himself as a storyteller and a creator of sound narratives. Year after year, party after party, his interest in electronics grew stronger and deeper, and in 2009 he debuts definitively in the 'dancefloor' as a DJ. Only two years later, in 2011, Rui G accepted the invitation to join the collective Elements, a renowned platform dedicated to electronics, based in Coimbra. This association was an important step in his musical journey, with invitations to play in some of the events and clubs with more tradition in the Techno scene, between Coimbra and Porto, along with well known DJs whom he admires, such as: David Rodrigues, Afonso Macedo, Nelson Flip, A .Paul, The Advent, Deepbass, Brando Lupi, Nobody Home, NTOGN, BLNDR, Antigone, Dorian Gray, Freddy K and Henning Baer.
Talented, curious, ambitious, committed to crossing musical boundaries and improving his technical skills, his sets invite to a sensorial journey beyond preconceived ideas of genre. Most recently he was present at events in Lisbon, Germany and the Czech Republic.

I started making electronic music in the early 80’s after getting my first synthesizer. Since then I’ve been playing in bands and started my solo debut in 2002. I’ve been awarded track of the month in IDJ Magazine. Also had several releases in Beatport’s top 100. Threshold Productions has released on labels such as TP Recordings, Baroque Records, RPO Records, BQ, Dance N Dust, Earhead Audio, Crosslink Music, Clinique Records, 3xA Music, Rythm Royal among others.

Based at VIC // Aveiro Arts House, VIC NIC is our freshly baked circulatory device for sonic, visual and written artworks, aiming to stimulate togetherness, experimentation and co-creation by facilitating the research, production and dissemination of unique world views.

On the backroads of DIY culture, we will keep pushing this safe harbour for the wild at heart towards the creation of possible shared futures by openly facilitating the flight plans of time travel artifacts. We hope you join us.
