You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".

Lifegrid is an audio/visual sensory experiment that explores the idea of unity through expression. In a lab somewhere in the hills of California's Central Coast, sonic dreamscapes and eclectic auditory textures are being woven into complex narratives for your ear's adventure. Music can be used as medicine and a weapon; both are needed with the current state of our world. Collaboration is key.
In addition to personal recordings, I also share my engineering works from happenings in and around San Luis Obispo, California. I hope you resonate.

Billy Kenny is a British producer, DJ and sound engineer with over 15 years of experience shaping a unique, genre-fluid sound. Blending House, Garage, Bass and modern melodic influences, his music has topped charts, earned awards and led to collaborations and official remixes for many major international artists.

Once a co-founder and A&R of the influential record label This Ain’t Bristol, Billy helped shape a movement that reached dancefloors worldwide. His career includes multiple world tours, performances on major festival stages, award-winning releases and repeat placements in the Beatport/DJ Mag Alternative Top 100 DJs list.

After years of working privately and independently, Billy’s focus now is precision, freedom and evolution. With full creative control for the first time in nearly a decade, he moves quietly, choosing to release only what feels essential and allowing the music to define the direction.
