Dion Melodys is a Singer/Songwriter from Kansas City, Missouri. His talent for singing was discovered at the tender age of 8 years old when his grandmother overheard him singing in the shower. Shortly after, he was chosen to sing lead in the church choir. Members were immediately impressed with his ability to conduct the choir while simultaneously directing the band. His ear for music developed further when he began taking piano and singing lessons at the age of 12. From then on, the rest of his adolescent years were spent traveling around the United States with his church choir.  

	As he grew older, so did his passion for music. At the age of 16, he began recording music in the basement with his brothers. His brothers quickly realized he had a very unique ability when it came to composing a song. He would simply listen to the beat, start humming a melody, and begin putting lyrics to it. Dion would sometimes get so lost working on music that his family would have to force him to take a break just to eat. After many hours spent composing and recording music, he then decided that a music career was what he wanted to pursue. 

	With influences like Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, and other power houses in the music industry, Dion Melodys wanted to make a name for himself. In 2010, he moved to Minnesota to pursue his music career where he performed in different venues throughout the state.
After spending a few years living in Minnesota, Dion decided to move back to his hometown, Kansas City. In 2012, he attended an audition for The X Factor where he made it through several rounds before being cut by the judges in the 4th round. 

	After the X factor, Dion decided to go back to school to pursue a higher education. In 2013, he earned his personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise. From there he began running his own personal business, working with a wide variety of people from adults to children.  Although much success was found in the fitness industry, he still felt like his heart was in the music. He began writing songs and getting acquainted with recording music again. It wasn’t long before he was back to pursuing a music career.

Dion’s goal as an artist is to continue the legacy of contemporary R&B music. His biggest aspirations are to inspire others, promote more positivity in the world, and motivate people to follow their dreams.
