Regarded upon his 2006 arrival as a promising beatmaker looming in the shadows of J Dilla, Madlib, waterfalls and Dabrye, Steven Ellison -- known as Flying Lotus -- nullified all comparisons only two years later with Los Angeles. On that album, his first of five for the Warp label, Ellison distilled a uniquely crisp, spasmodic, and heady sound with elements of hip-hop, avant-garde jazz, IDM, and dubstep. While the abovementioned producers fueled Ellison, he had also been excited as a youngster by the '90s West Coast rap classics that combined programming and live instrumentation. His sound continued to develop as he put his own twist on the approach, recording with a crop of jazz musicians including the indispensable likes of bassist Thundercat and strings master Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. This process began with the turbulent 2010 set Cosmogramma and peaked in terms of acclaim in 2014 with You're Dead!, which crashed the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and spawned the Kendrick Lamar collaboration "Never Catch Me," a Grammy nominee for Best Dance Recording. Ellison devoted a few years to various forms of film work and the operation of his revered Brainfeeder label, and returned in 2019 with Flamagra, his second consecutive album to top Billboard's Dance/Electronic chart.

Latinaotearoa is a latin-funk soul & hiphop outfit that has been on the uprise in land of the long white cloud, New Zealand.  Their distinct flavor is a brew of three recognizable musical talents in the music scene downunder.
Amazing Vocalist Jeniffer Zea’s from Venezuela, DJ Bobby Brazuka the unofficial Brazilian ambassador of music and culture in New Zealand and Isaac Aesili a talented producer and in-demand New Zealand percussionist and trumpeter. 
Together they create a unique and truly legitimate Latin act with a local flavour, both bending and blending the traditional music of their homelands with the modern sounds of here and now.  Jennifer’s sultry singing layers Bobby’s beat selections beautifully, with Isaac providing the icing with live accompanying percussion.
With vast experience performing in front of local and international audiences, With the musical pedigree, multi-cultural exposure, impressive artist interaction and sheer talent that these artists possess, this trio is sure to shuffle feet and swing hip

Latinaotearoa has just finish a tour in Brazil and worked in their upcoming 2nd album Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica which is coming out in November.

Full of Brazilian influences this album is going to bring heat to New Zealand summer.

To bring this true experience Latinaotearoa will invite Auckland based dance company the Brazilian Divas to add spice to the flavourful Latin melting pot that the Trio's show is.

I've been collecting records and playing music since a young age.
I have played records as a Dj since the mid 90s with a focus on Funk, I have a range of music I also draw influence from including: Jazz, Soul, Disco, Latin, Afrobeat Hip Hop etc. While in Christchurch I hosted the long running Supafly Radio Show on RDU for over 10 years.
I've Dj'd around New Zealand and Australia as well as performances in the USA, Canada, UK and West Africa. I have had the pleasure of Djing alongside some great artists such as: Mr Scruff, Lee Perry, The Mad Professor, Jazzanova, Fat Freddy's Drop, Kora, Recloose, Opensouls, Electric Wire Hustle, Manuel Bundy and Frank Booker among others.

I am also a percussionist having recorded and performed for many years with a variety of bands, musicians and producers. Some of which include:

I currently host the Actual Proof Radio Show on Base Fm 107.3fm, every Wednesday 10am- Noon here in Auckland, New Zealand.
