MTS Music, in collaboration with Narked Records, is please to announce the release of Spiritual Relationship: The Deeper Meaning, the new album by Washington DC based music producer Matthew Shell. The Deeper Meaning was conceived over a period of 15 years ago by Matthew Shell. During this process, over 200 songs were created and scratched before this final version of 11 songs were picked to be recorded and release as part of this project. Matthew’s wife, Terra, inspired the completion of this concept album which goes from two destined souls being alone, to meeting, to growing in love, to protecting each other, to finding true love that lasts a lifetime.

The bear plays an important role in the lore of many tribes, however this tune was inspired by a local Mount Wilson bear. The observatory galley had recently been broken into by a California brown bear who tore out an air conditioner and in broke in through a window in order to snatch a ripening mango from the kitchen counter, leaving a wake of casual destruction. Recorded live on location inside the 100-inch telescope dome at Mt. Wilson, California. Sometimes it just feels like time is “flying by.” Albert Einstein explored this, and theorized that the world around us is actually speeding up gradually. Side effects of this stretching and bending of time cause many of the issues we face in our day-to-day lives.  Distorted Time is a musical reflection of this process.

The song infuses world instruments from Turkey, Persia, and India and combines standard, jazz, pentatonic, and non-standard semi-tone scales.  Our hope is that this 3- minute track will bring you back to your roots, cause you to pause and take a deep breath, and help you to shine your light on all that is real and true within yourself.
