After a stint at mainstream success during the 90s in his native Canada, Manteye disappeared from the music scene. Almost 2 decades later, this eclectic singer-songwriter is back with an impressive set of songs and a new-found motivation. As far as the 90s might now be, Manteye's heartfelt vocals have never sounded so honest and meaningful, his songs finding strength in their intimacy and sheer beauty of a few, simple and well-arranged elements……. "I have been in and out of songwriting....singing and all that goes with the highs and lows....of wondering why you ever started in the first.

Curtis Casey is an American Born Singer Songwriter from Phoenix Arizona who was raised all over the United States as well as the country of New Zealand where his Mother was born and raised.  

“We moved around our fair share because my father was a nuclear engineer. Music and song writing with an acoustic guitar became my constant and was my safe place.  To this day whenever I walk into a room and there is a guitar in it I immediately feel welcome.”

As a half Polynesian half Irish American Curtis learned to love and appreciate music and singing of all types at a very young age and still loves the entire process of writing and recording music.  

For 15 years he toured all around Europe and the United States with his Active Rock / Nu Metal band, Vayden.  

“We were lucky we got signed to a subsidiary of Warner Music very young and they sent us all over the place to play.  We ended up recording 3 albums together and 2 EPs.”

Now Curtis enjoys the simple joy of singing nice songs in cool places to appreciative audiences.

Today he lives in Marina Del Rey with his wife, two sons and small daughter.

I am a married father of two, grandfather of four, fine arts graduate and polymath.

I had been asked to commit my songs to recording for the benefit of my offspring, and also I guess before I go completely deaf (Yes. I am one of the 1 in 7 severely deaf people in the UK) so begins this project. 

However, as I have gotten into it I realize that I have a lot of new stuff bursting out all the time, much of it inspired by you good people on Sound Cloud. 

Collaborating has been a revelation and I want to do more and as much as I can, so if you hear anything of mine you like and/or have any ideas about production etc just drop me a line anytime.

I would at some point like to work with someone to develop my own and hopefully your songs as an acoustic vocal duo so if you are geographically near and interested please get in touch.

Recordings were made first on a Boss Micro BR, then on an iMac running Garageband'11, inputting through a Behringer 1204 USB mixer and using a Rode NT2A for voice (Behringer C1 condenser mic for voice up to April 2013) and an AKG1000S for guitars. From January 2013 I have upgraded software to Logic pro 9. My weapon of choice is a Martin 00015M, with Martin SP Light's mostly recorded open though sometimes via Fishman Rare Earth Blend.
