As Spacecadet Lullabies, Melbourne based producer Matt Lewin returns with a new release, Gardens (Available September 2018). This 4 track EP is a departure from his previous instrumental albums; Ghost Songs (2010), Spacecadet Lullabies (2004), and features the guest vocals of Tali Gal-on and Rachel Comte. Weaving together voices, acoustic instruments, found sounds and electronic instruments, Lewin’s new direction steers towards dreamlike, song driven, downtempo trip hop. 


Lewin’s sound has often explored experimental ambient electronica, but Gardens finds him delving into textural, beat driven pop. Lewin’s elastic beats flow beneath shimmering atmospheric chords and Rachel Comte’s lush vocals on the lead single Hearts. Elsewhere, Tali Gal-on’s vocals glide across glistening harmonics and the bent, subtle glitched beats in Wet Grass. 


“I called the release Gardens, as all the songs take place in some kind of imagined constructed form of nature,” Lewin shares his thinking behind the album's title. “Each song is some kind of a garden that is sonically sculpted or left to run wild. In each garden, someone is trying to connect to someone or something to search for some sort of solace or peace. I think everyone can relate to that search at one time or another.”

Class-A's relentless work ethic as an MC has led to collaborations with a virtual all-star cast of Australian producers. Over 3 albums - and a mixtape - she's worked alongside M-phazes (Obese Records, Pharoahe Monche), Aoi (Wax Museum), BVA (Mnemonic Ascent) and Urban Monk aka Dyl Thomas (Polo Club). 2010's "Me, Me, Me & Him: The Secret Life of a Receptionist," led to a feature spot on Triple J Unearthed, radio play all over the country, and spawned a massive Australian tour alongside The Tongue and Spit Syndicate. Drum Media called the album "immersive, endearing and great fun." It's these traits that make Class- A's lyrics adaptable enough to be as suited to M-phazes traditional rap bangers, as they are to Urban Monks' future-fried space funk.

She's shared the stage with the likes of Dilated Peoples, Jean Grae, Talib Kweli, Lord Finesse, Rakaa, Ras G, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious) and J-Live, as well as national stalwarts The Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy, Mantra & Ozi Batla.

Her latest project 'The Baroness' is a collaboration with Melbourne beatmaker Aoi. Their self-titled release was dropped in January 2012 on an unsuspecting public, instantly becoming feature album on Triple J's Hiphop show. 

The Baroness reflects a different side of Class-A. Her flow maintains the character that so many found endearing on earlier releases, but there's a new attitude here, revealing a more calculated, colder edge. It really is like, as Aoi says "by night, Class A is an Eastern European, dark haired evil double agent for Cobra. With glasses." Not to mention that matching this vocal presence with Aoi's easy neck snapping drums, obscure samples and crusty vinyl loops, is a stroke of genius on a super-villainous level.

Muma is also a front woman with 6 piece Hip Hop/Soul band, Blunt Paper Massive who have perfomed at Moomba and Brunswick Music Festival. 
She has recently appeared on U.S. based compilation 
"The Illest Female Rappers Vol. 18" alongside Da Brat and Estelle.
MD released a new video clip for her new soul track "Untamed Hearts" ft. Jess Harlen, Pataphysics and Dj Rellik.
This track is from from her upcoming album, "Ms. Fortune".
Her style is a blend of hip hop, soul, and patios.
MD is also co-hosting "Hip Sista Hop" female and Indigenous Hip Hop Radio Show on 855am, 1pm Every Monday on 3CR Radio..

HISTORY:
From 2004 until 2007, Muma Doesa was an original member of all girl crew : Ladies Luv Hip Hop, a crew of young women emcees, dj’s, dancers, graffiti writers, vocalists, film makers and photographers.

 Highlights are Interviewing Jean Grae for Heavyweight TV, 
performing at The Big Day Out 2006, 
Hosting a dj workshop with Roc Raida at Djs United Mixing School 2008, 
and The Emerging Writer’s Festival 2009. 

Other gigs include: running an emcee workshop at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre with Mc Liones in 2007, to help young women with lyrical compositions and performance.
