Com músicas próprias, letras bem humoradas e inteligentes, a banda Tupinikings causou ótima repercussão no circuito noturno de bares e casas de shows em São Paulo, Brasil, nos idos de 1999.

Em 2001 a canção “Menina d´água” foi incluída no filme “Dinner Rush”, dirigido por Bob Giraldi. 

No ano seguinte, a Love Cats Music incluiu as canções “Engano”, “Menina d´água”, “Embriaguez” e “Bel-Prazer” na coletânea “Brazilian Beat – Bossa Nova and Samba Vol. I, nos Estados Unidos.
