Southern Rebelz, is a dynamic duo making waves in the house scene. Based in the South East of England, the duo consists of Toxic Rebel and Hypnotic Rebel together with their energetic hype man, Lazi Kayi One.

The Southern Rebelz draw much of their authentic sound from their roots. With both hypnotic and toxic rebel having southern African origins, the Rebelz started listening to deep house at a young age in Africa. Realising that they wanted to share their music taste with the world, the Rebelz thought of djing as the perfect avenue to express that. Influenced by their Southern African origins, the Southern Rebelz sound is built on a fusion of Kasi vibes, soulful house, deep tech alongside nostalgic and broken beats. Inspired by underground house Djs and their passion for ‘eccentric’ art and fashion, the dynamic duo incorporate their individuality not only in their sound but also their stage presence/performance. 

The duo made their talent and presence quickly known in the UK house scene with their array of media. Their monthly podcast on heartthis and radio slot on Drums Radio featuring international DJs is just one of the ways that the duo showcase their work and style. As well as their residency at TwelveBar and weekly Youtube underground deep house sessions, Southern Rebelz have exhibited their skills alongside major DJs at the Prince of wales with Manoo and hosted an event at soho House with Kid fonque (staytruesounds).
Recently, they’ve made their mark on the industry, playing at major events such as Mzansi festival, Ritual, South African youth day, Afrotastic and Abantu. The Rebelz have also played as guest Dj at the following stations:
