Having roots in both Philadelphia and Arizona, FLEX’s sound reflects a unique fusion of East and West Coast influences, creating a distinctive musical experience. Astartes, aka Adam K grew up in the Chicago north suburbs. He was introduced to House music at an early age from the B96 radio station with DJs Bad Boy Bill, Julian Jumpin’ Perez, DJ Markski, Tim "Spinnin" Schommer, Too Kool Kris, and Bobby D. He went to his first rave in 1995 and bought his first set of Technics in 1997. He has since then branched his mixing into Tech-House, Trance, Breaks, Techno, and on very rare occasion Drum & Bass. In 1998 he and his friends started doing their own events under 619 Productions. In 2004 he moved to Arizona, the first of three times. In 2008 he cofounded Groove Corps Productions and did a monthly Drum & Bass/Breakbeat night in Phoenix. He has played everything from simple house parties to bars, clubs, warehouse parties, desert parties, and festivals. Today he can be found wherever the music is good.
