That's what we missing today in music is the soul. Everything is off the brain and analog it's not really from the heart no more. Do you sometimes cry when you're in the booth?
On one record I did called 'Wise' that didn't make the album the Supreme Clientale, I couldn't use it, they took it off, I cried writing it. I wrote it on the beach. And I cried. And it started raining when I was crying. It was in Miami. I cried writing it, and then when I went to go record it, it had some tears coming to my eyes too, recording it, because I had to zone it, I couldn't really do it in front of everybody. I don't like to record in front of a lot of poeple especially when I'm writing emotional stuff.

Why are MCs so afraid of crying?
They're afraid to show the truth. What's real. Everybody got a shield in front of them. A lot of people don't think with a truthful mind. [...] You can't really hide it. It's gonna have to come out one day. So I like to let my emotions just go and tell the truth. And just let it go. And a lot of MCs can't take that. They try to but they can't do it 'cause they be afraid to go in. I'm not afraid to go in.

I say I started it when I did 'Wise' when I told you wrote the first crying joint.
It came out alright but as I went I got better, because I did 'I Can't Go to Sleep' and that was kind of a crying voice. But I been doing it since 87, 88, but at first it was scary to go ahead and do it, but I just started letting it out. The more I did it the more I perfected it.
