The new Gomma 12" comes from two friends from Milano Italy. Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti are The Barking Dogs since 2006: two djs with different musical backgrounds and solid experiences. They run famous record shop in Milan “Serendeepity" and are known as party animals: their dj-sets spread the same energy and passion that they put in their musical research. Under their shop in the center of Milan they have a huge collection of vintage sinths and drum machines. They love this raw, dirty sound of the late 80ies. Big city grooves. 

They had a few releases: in 2008 “Re-incantation”, a Balearic trip quickly sold-out in Europe, “The guitar man” “Hi-nrg” on Mad On The Moon.Their  Rush hour single “Hit the ground/Fare una donna/Alibi” was quoted by 2ManyDjs, Horse Meat Disco, Trevor Jackson and many others. A nice Barking Dogs track was also part of last years “Italo Now Compilation” on Gomma Records.

Cryptozoology, the search for and study of animals whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the Loch Ness monster and the yeti, is something that Henry Saiz finds deeply intriguing. His love of exoticism and strange natural/organic sounds (his own label is called Natura Sonoris - which means Nature of Sound) provide the fuel for this latest stunning Bedrock release.

“The Cryptozoologist” has an instantly striking, mysterious Andean / Peruvian melodic influence that harks back to cultures shrouded in the mysteries of time, creating a truly haunting track. “Uncharted” is equally hypnotic and enthralling and yet distinctly different. Henry is using a lot of analogue vintage gear to create his music, which is giving him a very distinct sound, a path that will lead to his hotly awaited debut artist album (due out in April 2013) on which he will delve totally into and explore an analogue world (www.wearehenrysaiz.com).

Henry's critically acclaimed “Balance 019” album, released in 2011, was the catalyst for his star potential explode around the globe. His superb collaboration with Guy J (“Meridian”) and his solo track (“La Marea”) for the landmark Bedrock 100 release, were of the highest level of quality and his most recent release, “Our Discovery” (Natura Sonoris), became a huge Ibiza hit this summer, with supporters including John Digweed, Sasha, M.A.N.D.Y., Luciano, Visionquest, Danny Howells and many others. Ernesto Ferreyra is a producer of pedigree, and a bastion of quality over quantity. His releases
for Cynosure and Mutek_rec and his stunning album for Luciano’s Cadenza imprint attest to
this. His new Message From Abroad EP for Memoria continues his trend for finding beauty and
groove in depth and restraint.

The lazy funk of A Ship In The Sky’s plump bassline doesn’t quite suggest what’s to come; that
being dreamy, atmospheric tech house of the highest order. A masterful use of space, FX and
texture runs through the track, subtle, heady melodies laced with warm, intricate percussion and
deft soundscapes. The unexpected twists and turns in Ferreyra’s genius arrangement make for
a constantly engaging ride during which you’re always kept on your toes. Think Cocoon in its
deeper, more sumptuous moments and you’re heading in the right direction.

Mostly Numb goes deeper still, rolling yet subdued bass undulating beneath delicate pad
sounds and sprightly piano chords. Otherworldly sounds tickle the track’s edges, a hypnotic
undercurrent swirling around the soft melodies and carefully utilised sounds. Chilling rounds off
this engrossing EP in a more percussive manner, with its combination of taut snares and juicy
wooden percussion pattering away alongside chunky tech bass and tripped-out FX and vocal
snippets.

Following the release of his 2012 album RGB, Zombie Nation is a producer at the height of his powers, massively respected by his peers. Now, Turbo has enlisted some of its favorite artists to give the album a remix package that reflects both its quality and versatility.

The newest addition to Turbo's New Jack Techno stable, Bristol-based producer joeFarr's first EP for the label earned him instant recognition, and his follow-up EP -due this spring - is massive. Swedish veteran Zoo Brazil follows his string of huge Twin Turbo releases with yet another surefire peak-time bomb. Turbo also reunites with old flame Popof, hearkening back to the days before he became a big-name festival fixture. For this release, he brings his signature sound to one of the album's standout tracks.

Meanwhile, our rich love affair with the nation of Belgium continues with a remix from emerging up-and-comer Modek, who delivers a stadium-sized banger worthy of his heritage. Dutch duo TWR82 counts the likes of Erol Alkan, Brodinski, and Laidback Luke as supporters. Their version of "Pony" is clanging big-room techno that's both stripped-down and jacked-up, if you can even imagine that. Finally, rising New Jack Techno star J. Bruno Cardoso aka Xinobi has built an enviable reputation over recent years, kick started partly by his association with Discotexas and to some extent by his outstanding release on Kris Menace’s Work it Baby label in 2010. His truly eclectic tastes and broad reaching styles have made him a genuinely exciting producer from whom you never quite know what is to come next, this is also reflected in his outstanding DJ performances. His recent remix of the Moullinex single ‘Darkest Night’ on Gomma was a highlight of the package whilst his own ‘(I Hate the Sound of) Guitars’ was a standout release for Discotexas last year.

For his latest release Xinobi drops two brand new tracks, kicking off with the excellent ‘Puma’, a classic House inspired cut that fuses an old school organ line with shuffling percussion and hooky vocal samples to great effect. On the flip, things go a little deeper with the melodic and laidback ‘Woods’ journeying into atmospheric and hypnotic territory with its mix of ethereal pads and insistent bass, quality stuff.
