Today's prompt was to start with the bassline and build it up from there. Well, the electronic artist who writes the coolest basslines I know is Bluetech, so I thought it would be fun to sketch out a track in his style. With a little development it might even be convincing 🤣

This track was written by myself and my best friend, Ruth Anne Pollard who has a soundcloud channel of her own, https://soundcloud.com/ruth-anne-1. 

We wrote this song as a dedication to ourselves and to many others out there who have put much of our own feelings aside in order to be there for the ones around us who are less empathetic and less likely to reciprocate. These unrecognized feelings that we struggle to speak about can start to build up within us and come to the surface, causing those around us to question who we are because we have essentially been forced to wear a mask for so long.

Musically this song was inspired by Chariots of Fire by Vangelis, particularly in the verses

3-layer track I put together this morning on the fly... improving at syncopation a little. Been working on my vocals too. Its a work in progress, but there's no ceiling with dedication... Watch out for the sheepdogs in wolves clothing. They're the worst type. Funny thing is we don't know who the real sheepdogs are until the wolves come, and the masks/costumes come off and we see who people really are. Thanks for listening!
