This one was just too fun not to write. I wanted to answer one of the rowdiest, most iconic country songs ever — Garth Brooks’s “Friends in Low Places.”

“From Low Places” picks up after the bar fight, after the fancy wedding, after the heartbreak. And yeah… I’m still down here with the good folks, drinkin’ cheap beer, laughin’ through the pain — but I’m proud of it. The chorus is big, chant-worthy, and made for singin’ with strangers at midnight.

It’s messy, it’s honest, and it’s country to the bone. Sometimes the best friends show up when the high life throws you out.
