JOHNNY ROCKET is an electronic dance music artist with a high-energy sound built to ignite dance floors. His music blends multiple styles of house into an explosive identity designed to create unforgettable experiences.

Known for his unmistakable energy on stage, he brings the same intensity to his music—turning every performance into a moment of connection.

He first gained traction under the alias DEESH, earning over 500K SoundCloud streams and receiving support from Diplo. That early momentum led to performances at venues including Exchange LA and Time Nightclub, along with opening slots for artists such as Laidback Luke and JSTJR.

The JOHNNY ROCKET project reflects his evolution as an artist. Built on sobriety and a deep love for dance music, his mission is simple: to create lasting moments that move people through sound.

San Diego born, the community of the dance floor surrounded me at a younger age.
It was normal for house parties to have decks at the command of the music selection. It took me a year or two of observing  the rekordbox patterns until finally I purchased my own controller in the Spring of 2017. 

From here, I was hooked. To be a good DJ you of course need skills, but what I have learned over the last 8 years is that if you want to be a respected DJ, you need tracks. My knowledge of artists stemmed from attending festivals and shows to expand my horizons in the various sub genres of dance music. I enjoy them all and keep an open mind! However, I realized there were simply too many DJs and labels to keep track of new music. I hated the feeling of coming across a banger track and realizing it was released months ago. I wished there was a page that I could follow to give me release updates. In the Summer of 2020, H&TR was born. 

I am now addicted to digging deeper and deeper into the underground to discover every new release across house and techno, and have been doing it for over 150 weeks straight now. I am committed to this mission not only for myself and DJ ability, but I have a passion for sharing good music with others. I love introducing a new artist to a friend that I think they would enjoy. Not just this, but what an incredible feeling it is to “ID” a track when others send me a video. Hence a friend coining me the name “DavID”
