One of the brightest stars on the label is back again after his absolutely genre dominating debut EP ‘Unseen Forces’. An artist who has been speed running up the ranks in popularity with releases on prestigious and respected labels such as Dispatch Recordings and Flexout Audio, and a multitude of features already on under his belt on the Yamatai imprint solidifying himself as one of our labels most successful and favourite artists.

We can now happily announce Acris' return to the label with his absolutely outrageous two track club smasher ‘Dog Funk / Badman Sound.

The king of sound design is back after a short hiatus. Since his last appearance on the highly acclaimed Unseen Forces EP back in December Leon has been on a mission of pure dominance in the Drum & Bass scene. Releasing banger after banger. The budding Austrian producer cannot be stopped and is a ever evolving artist, with each release out doing his last. With recent success over on our good friends over at Transparent Audio and native Austrian label Empathy Audio, Leon has been paving a way for his name across the globe and we love to see it!

It’s been so refreshing to sit back and what his progression over the last few years. Starting with his debut track ‘Let It Go’ back in April last year which was a heavily focused liquid anthem that took the world by storm then rolling to December with arguably his most popular release ever his ‘Unseen Forces EP’. Two massively different styles which further showcased Leon’s immense ability to write any style to an outstanding quality.

‘Dog Funk / Badman Sound’ are once again a showcase of this versatility that Acris possesses. One track that is heavily focused on aggressive basses, sharp transitions and thumping drums while the other is styled more to the old foghorn style with a new age twist.

Acris is back with two new club tracks, both outrageous and ready to cause another stir!

The conflict had raged through the night, staining the battlefield black with the dark blood of the fallen, a crust of congealing life permeating the bleak soil of this desolate place - the air punctuated the occasional shriek as soldiers fell - their voices joined with the weak moans of the dying that littered the landscape. The name ‘Odyssey’ is apt from an LP which explores the full musical world which The Clamps has built around his art. And alongside Kosen Production, he’s about to unleash a collection of records that is a full spectrum look of what he’s achieved over his career, one which has spanned the neurofunk genre and helped provide some of its most unforgiving, yet refined sounds. Stretching across fifteen tracks, mainly falling within the techstep and neurofunk categories, there’s a host of featuring artists which help to platform the network he’s built through his music, from Nuklear MC, Impak, Merikan, Mizo to Nickbee. Due to drop in September, Kosen Productions - one of the leading independent imprints pushing up through its competition - is set to release its first teaser. It comes in the form of ‘Mankind / Soul of the Abyss’. ‘Mankind’ is a sonic rendition of humanity’s dark side, setting the scene of the world going mad, whilst ‘Soul of the Abyss’ focuses more on the depression, juxtaposing the track’s more melancholy parts with its more aggressive elements.

‘Mankind’ creates a landscape which is snapping and unforgiving, one which slowly drags you in like quicksand. The Clamps isn’t afraid to search for new and exciting avenues for his music, which is shown throughout ‘Mankind’. Its foreboding intro sets the scene and bit by bit you’re gradually pulled into the chaos. ‘Soul of the Abyss’ is more deeply menacing; a brooding concoction of throbbing drum peddles, crackling LFOs and peaked stabs of bass. Whilst still pushing the same underground feel as its forerunner, The Clamps doesn’t mince his intentions, cutting forward with the precision and snapping jaws which are still part of the track’s more understated composition. Yet it still causes as much of an impact and that’s why this package provides an intriguing opener of what The Clamps is about to unleash. He has a talent at his disposal which has been proven time and time again, meaning that the anticipation around the album will only begin to rise. Its world is chaotic as The Clamps has ever been.
