Born in Racine Wisconsin and raised in Petersburg Virginia Poppablack Hoody experienced nearly every aspect of the street life. While serving 20 years in prison he perfected his craft and came home with his own style of rap that he calls Black Hoody muzik, calling himself “Poppa” to convey that he is the father of this style. His mixture of lyricism, gangsta, and swag makes it hard for critics to place him in any other category but his own.
