'stay longer' is the surreal new album from producer, DJ and label-head usof. Since his first release, the Lisbon-based artist’s productions have consistently captured an uncanny and ephemeral quality. On 'stay longer', he delves even deeper into this world. Texture and tone blend into an amorphous sonic landscape where ideas overflow – a subdued, dissociative dreamscape.

Like his previous work, it’s the scattered details that define 'stay longer'. This is introspective music, though not in the way you might expect. Songs shift unpredictably, melodies are submerged in digital fog, and the typical comforts of ambient music are largely absent. The entire album feels like an honest expression of the unruly nature of interiority. It can be calming and chaotic, often simultaneously. It’s these contradictory states which usof aptly captures throughout 'stay longer'. The album invites you to linger in fragile moments, to embrace the space between what is and what could be, urging you to stay just a little longer.

"Hello. My name is Dania and I run the Paralaxe Editions label. Outside of this, I am also an Emergency Medicine doctor and an Arab in the diaspora. Growing up, Palestine was a frequent topic of conversation in my home. What is happening now is not a new conflict. The horrific images we are currently seeing in Gaza are simply the latest manifestation of an oppressive system that dates back decades. I'm usually a private person, but as a doctor, a woman and an Arab whose whole life was uprooted by war and Western imperialism, leaving me displaced from my homeland, I feel compelled to act in the face of a situation that seems increasingly dire by the day.

Looking to make some kind of positive contribution, I've reached out to friends, colleagues and fellow artists from a variety of geographic, social and ethnic backgrounds, asking if they would donate some of their music to a fundraiser compilation.

'For Palestine' is that compilation and I hope that the breadth of the participants involved helps to underscore the severity of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and in Palestine in general.

All proceeds will go to Médecins Sans Frontières. This charity has been chosen as the benefactor as I am not only familiar with their mission statement and field work, but many of my medical colleagues have directly worked with the organisation in different locations around the globe. MSF currently has doctors and staff on the ground in Gaza, and they are actively working to treat patients and get desperately needed supplies across the border.

On top of the music, I've also teamed up with Oficina de Disseny to create a special print. Printed at L'automatica in Barcelona as part of a collective printing effort, 600 posters were produced in total, though a majority have been (and will continue to be) distributed freely at protests in Barcelona. A small quantity, however, are on sale here. Unfortunately, they are available to EU customers only. (Some additional copies will also be available at Paralaxe Editions' showcase at Cafe Oto in London on November 7.)

We ask you to please donate generously to the compilation.

"As we near the end of 2023, we feel exhaustion from wars, exiles, ecological catastrophes, censorships, unstable economic situations we find ourselves and our dissolving bodies. In all that the only thing that keeps us hopers is seeing you guys act, listening to all the strong supportive voices, talking about things that can be dangerous to speak up about, as we see numerous examples of censorship for standing up for your beliefs.

This compilation brings together 19 musicians to continue the conversation about Palestine, calling for a ceasefire and an end to the occupation, and donating their tracks to support the people in Gaza.

All donations raised from this compilation will be sent to Medical Aids for Palestine (MAP), an organization prioritizing the health of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. They provide immediate medical aid to those in need and work to develop local capacity and skills for the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

Let's not allow the darkness to consume us. Let's continue to raise our voices, support each other, and take action.
