It stretched out wide and eternal, like no sky I'd ever seen, and I realized with certainty that I'd woken within my dream. And as I watched in silent awe, transfixed by the view, a crack appeared across the sky and cleaved the whole in two, and shards of blue and cotton wool fell silently around, littering the ground. The sun toppled from its place and quietly rolled away, as a boundless night revealed itself behind the facade of day. But not a familiar night, with dots and points of light, but countless nebuli and a billion stars blazed nearby like some galactic centre, vast, glorious and unfathomable from horizon to horizon.
