It’s a rare treat to share this recording from two of my favorite powerhouse selectors, Rotterdam’s Nelly and Oslo’s Marius Bø, who linked behind the decks at Nantes’ renowned Macadam last December for a night curated by club resident Bambi. The result, as expected, soars. Witness a three-hour cyclone of blistering, mind-shattering divinations capturing these two in their finest element, an uplifting of the psyche leaving no layer unturned. Thanks Nelly & Marius!

Next in our mix series is our co-founder, Ekkel. From the studio, he delivers a fresh, modern take on ’90s Nordic electronic music—both mind-bending and progressive—diving headfirst into breaks and intricate percussive trips, whether as Ekkel or Alvar. Teo is deeply woven into the Ute-hemisphere, contributing to various musical constellations. With Solar Alliance (with Oprofessionell & Mikkel Rev), he crafts expansive live trance journeys, recorded and arranged in just days. As Ipeo (with Oprofessionell), he fuses ‘90s influences with contemporary twists to create mesmerizing soundscapes. Meanwhile, Accelerationism (with Marius Bø) are renowned for their marathon sets, regularly playing for hours on end. Teo has released several records on the Seoul-based record label, Junction Forest, that showcases his signature blend of groovy, deep and tech infused trance, further cementing his influence in the scene.

For the 100th anniversary episode Teo has put together a three hour odyssey with strictly his own unreleased material. This mix is a collaboration of sorts as Ekkel requested Marius Bø, the curator of the series, to go through his unreleased folders, select the tracks and order, before Ekkel would mix it all together. A journey from dark to light highlighting both the mental groove based parts of his output, to the more sensitive and dramatic.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.

Next up in our mix series is Shoal, a Dutch producer and DJ who recently relocated to Prague. Known for his hypnotic, emotionally layered sound, Shoal crafts deep, transportive journeys through trippy textures, modular synthesizers, and rolling rhythms. A core member of the ISOTOOP collective, he’s performed at leading underground spots like De School, Tresor, and Ratherlost. His releases on labels like Tikita, Harmony Recordings, Monument, our own Ute.Rec, and most recently Animalia, continue to expand and refine his unique sonic voice within the scene.

In this mix, Shoal delivers a 1.5-hour live set full of acid-dripping techno, spacey atmospheres, and heads-down minimalism. It’s a slow-burning, carefully building mix that captures the raw live sounds and subtle depth that define his sound. A live-set working just as much the mind as the body.

Marius Bø is a figure within the northern hemisphere of the electronic music landscape, his artistry is deeply rooted in a profound connection to nature's atmosphere and the communal spirit of open-air gatherings. As one of the co-founders of the Oslo-based collective Ute, Marius' musical journey finds its origins nestled amidst the Norwegian forests. It is here, between the trees and rustling leaves, that his sound took root, hosting and playing parties deep in the woods. Founded in 2017, the Ute label boasts a cult-like following for its approach to psychedelic trance music as well as long form downtempo and chill out sounds presented on sub labels Sinensis and Translusid. 

Marius’ sets can be seen as a concoction of psychedelic atmospherics, renowned for his extended sets, generating dynamic tensions and sublime releases that work both the body and mind. Mastering different tempos and moods of deep hypnosis, he deftly connects the dots between old school records and futuristic soundscapes. Whether it’s ambient, idm, trance or techno, the Ute label-head seamlessly blends the sounds with a captivating elegance. 
From hazy braindance to high-energy vibrations in mist-shrouded forests, balmy shores and dimly-lit basements, Marius navigates diverse settings with his distinctive musical style that takes a gentle yet firm grip on the soul. 

His unique approach has brought him to iconic venues such as Pawnshop, Bassiani, and Macadam, and to international festivals like Monument in the heart of Norway’s forest, Organik on a hidden peninsula in Taiwan and Outsider Festival, deep in the Australian bush. Whether in intimate clubs or verdant outdoor landscapes, Marius' music carries an organic and trippy spirit that transcends time and space.

Next up in our mix series is Drifters - the new collaborative project between DJ Zoik & Telly - two of the heads behind the Eora/Sydney-based collective Headnoiz, and their renowned bush gathering, Outsider. Centered around progressive, Headnoiz pushes trance-adjacent sounds that engage both the body and mind, operating both as a record label and underground party series. Their intimate Outsider, is a community-focused gathering set deep in the Australian bush. The festival is dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge electronic soundscapes on powerful sound systems, offering an immersive experience that blends nature with innovative music.

For this episode, we’ve got the recording of their set at a Headnoiz party back in June. An all vinyl outing, direct from a smoke-filled warehouse. Rooted in the minimal and progressive trance styles from the turn of the century, Drifters lean into the hypnotic and obscure slow burns. Fluid, groovy and trippy, laced with warped rhythms and skittish psy basslines.
