Affaq Mushtaq is a young musician from Rawalpindi who has been involved with music since an early age owing to his exposure through his father, the Late Master Mushtaq, and his musical career as a composer on PTV. At the tender age of only 21, Affaq has already dedicated 15 years of his life to following his father's footsteps. Working as a session musician with ATV and as singer with PTV, Affaq's hope is that Ufone Uth Records 2.0 will provide him the platform he needs to showcase his talents. 

Affaq's musical talents are not restricted to his vocals but also extend to playing the Tabla, Flute, Keyboard, Harmonium &amp; Guitar. It is this versatility that has provided him with the liberty to choose the style and sound of his own compositions.

At Ufone Uth Records 2.0 Affaq will be performing, his song 'Angunn' and will also be collaborating with the iconic Pakistani artist Aamir Zaki.

On his experience at the Ufone Uth Records Studio Affaq has said "I am pleased to be performing at Ufone Uth Record 2.0 s alongside the likes of Aamir and the Uth Records team. Though I consider myself a good singer/musician, I also believe that learning from others is an important step for self-improvement."

Ufone Uth Records 2.0 - Affaq Mushtaq - Aangun

XXI (21) is an underground band that features a versatile trio of talented individuals who are not only unique as a group but also masters of sound individually. XXI (21) comprises of Moheet ul Islam and Mohammad Taimoor on Guitars with Yahya Farid on Vocals. The three band members are well respected  for their work with the official LUMS Flood Relief Song which was done in  collaboration with Taimur Rehman of Laal and Ali Hamza of Noori . All three band members are students of the prestigious Lahore University of Management Sciences [LUMS]. 

The inspiration behind the music of the three talents is mined from the common yet diverse musical outputs of Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Nirvana, U2 The Beatles, Noori , Salman Ahmad, Porcupine Tree Jack white White, Alter Bridge and Mark Tremonty . On the Ufone Uth Records 2.0 platform, the band has the unique opportunity to display its own talent to its fullest potential. Indeed the band have high expectations from  Ufone Uth Records 2.0.by virtue of the fact that XXI (21) are big fans of Louis J Pinto aka Gumby. 

XXI (21) will be performing their own composition "Taare" on Ufone Uth Records 2.0 with musician Ahad Nayani featuring as a guest drummer on the track. The song has been inspired by those who define and weigh love and relationships on material gains in this material world and indeed the message of their song suggests that feelings and emotions should be strong enough to break away from material gains on the track. In the near future, XXI (21) hope’s to see its music 'making silence die with its noise.'

Ufone Uth Records 2.0 - XXI - Taaray

The Karachi based -, Sara Haider believes “as a vocalist, I want to be as versatile as I can be in a few years - be able to sing ghazals and pop and rock and jazz and whatever else i like to listen to. I think the ultimate goal is just to continue to learn and grow as a musician and to work with different people - to move forward.” Indeed Sara’s music is unconfined in both melody and lyric yet aficionado’s will undoubtedly detect the evocative strains of Sufi music within it.

As an artist, Sara continues to be inspired by the likes of Faiz, Rumi, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Simon &amp; Garfunkle, The Police, Lauryn Hill, Nayyara Noor, Strings, The Beatles, John Mayer, Nazia Hassan, Stevie Nicks, Geeta Dutt, Phoenix, Adele, Imogen heap, and Pakistan’s very own Zeb and Haniya. She is currently working on various musical projects and to this end is collaborating with composer/musician Ahsan Bari as part of Nritaal creating compositions and melodies inspired by the poetry of Hazrat Amir Khusro and Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Her music is unconfined in both melody and lyric yet aficionado’s will undoubtedly detect the evocative strains of Sufi music within it. 

At Ufone Uth Records 2.0, Sara Haider will be performing her song 'Main Tere Saath Hoon' which is based on the concept of separation anxiety that can occur while maintaining relationships. About the lyrics Sara Haider said, "I have kept the lyrics as simple and minimal as possible along with the melody so that they don’t break the laid-back feel of the track, but also so that it remains open to interpretation." Her support and session musicians for her episode in Ufone Uth Records 2.0 are Bass Guitarist and her brother Ali Haider (Nritaal), Imam Hamdani as the lead guitarist, Louis J “Gumby” Pinto for Percussions, Sameer Ahmed for Bass and Hildegunn Oisethon trumpet.

Ufone Uth Records 2.0 - Sara Haider - Tera Saath

Karachi based band, //orangenoise features four talented musicians: Daniel Arthur Panjwaneey on bass and vocals, Danial Hyatt on drums, Faizan Reidinger on synths and guitar with vocals by Talha Asim Wynne, who also plays the guitar. The four musicians came together in the summer of 2010 to form //Orangenoise and haven’t looked back since. Having performed regularly in the city of Karachi within the underground music scene, their popularity has been on a steady rise. 

The four band members come from a varied musical background. Daniel Arthur previously played for a thrash band called Messiah, Talha has experience of jamming in live shows while Faizan and Danial Hyatt are both also part of the band Mole. The band has been inspired by musicians and bands such as Tool, Porcupine Tree, Billy Sheehan, Boards of Canada and Pink Floyd, to name just a select few. Courtesy of Ufone Uth Records, they now have a platform to express their own brand of music to the nation - 'chappalgrazers' - as they call it themselves. 

At Ufone Uth Records 2.0, the band performs their song "Chaser." On the inspiration behind the song //Orangenoise said "social situations are the biggest inspiration behind the song's lyrics." With Chaser, they aim to highlight superficiality in society today and how the gap between one’s pretensions and one’s inner self is constantly widening. Chaser is the band's original composition and they have worked on it with one of Pakistan's biggest drumming icons’ and music producer, Louis J Pinto aka Gumby. 


Ufone Uth Records 2,0 - //orangenoise - Chaser

Hailing from the highlands of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rahim Saranjam Khan is a self-taught musician. Lacking support for wanting to make a career out of music, Rahim faced several obstacles in his pursuit of becoming a musician. Nonetheless, committed to his dream and learning only through books, instructional videos and personal experimentation,  Rahim taught himself how to play the guitar, piano, harmonium and melodeon and later received vocal training from Ustad Mehfooz Khokar. He has now established himself as the founding member of the band JUM and as a vocalist for the band Above; Rahim is Ufone Uth Records 2.0 final artist. 

Rahim takes his inspiration from a wide musical repertoire ranging from the now iconic bands of the Seventies to traditional classical musicians like Javed Bashir and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.. Rahim’s personal musical preference is mostly dominated by Rock and Blues. Performing his original composition ‘Afsoos’, which is an adaptation of the  work of Ahmed Faraz, Rahim will be accompanied by the talented Rakae Jamil on Sitar and Bradley D’Souza on Bass guitar.

Commenting on becoming a musician and his experience at the Ufone Uth Records 2.0 platform Rahim said: “It was quite difficult for me personally to choose a musical career as it is not easily accepted amongst my family. But with my determination to follow my dreams, I am committed to making unforgettable original music for everyone to enjoy. I am confident that with the help of Ufone Uth Records 2.0 team and guest musicians like Rakae and Bradley our country’s true colours and potential will be brought to light.”
