Dronus #2

For the #disquiet junto nr. 561, "Rework environmental sound recordings with Aphex Twin’s new software", I used "Bird call in spring" by jmiddlesworth, "Ambience, Night wildlife" by InspectorJ amd "Heavy Rain" by lebaston100. After some experimenting to find out how to get any sound at all out of this app, I just pressed Play and Record and this is the result. Now we know how Aphex Twin does it (and why it is so boring).

Familiar Strangers

you asked me to come
for electronics (2023)

This piece began life as a song for voice and piano based on E.E. Cummings' eponymous poem. However, I decided to subject my entire setting to a sort of cubist treatment and it resulted in a piece for fixed electronics with percussion sounds. 

Here is the poem:

you asked me to come:it was raining a little,
and the spring;a clumsy brightness of air
wonderfully stumbled above the square,
little amorous-tadpole people wiggled

battered by stuttering pearl,
                                leaves jiggled
to the jigging fragrance of newness
—and then.  My crazy fingers liked your dress
….your kiss,your kiss was a distinct brittle

flower,and the flesh crisp set
my love-tooth on edge.  So until light
each having each we promised to forget—

wherefore is there nothing left to guess:
the cheap intelligent thighs,the electric trite
thighs;the hair stupidly priceless.

Morning Solace was inspired by the haiku by Andrea Cecon.

the silence
of apple blossoms

Andrea Cecon is a hearing aids technician, a traveller, a haijin published all over the world, and also an ebook apprentice. His first ebook won 3rd place in Sharp Writ Book Awards contest in 2011 (category: poetry). Residing in Cividale, Italy, with his wife, Russian haijin Valeria Simonova-Cecon. He finds his inspiration in memories, travels, and everyday life.

Morning Solace Seas was written for Violin, Viola, Cello String Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Trombone, Cymbals, Gong and Piano.
