Project Techno 015 - Uun

Jim Beasley is a DJ and producer of techno and house music. Jim has been immersed in the music scene since the early 90’s; playing in bands early on in his career and transitioning into the electronic realm in 2012. By 2014 Jim was warming up dance floors in Denver clubs pretty regularly. Always having an interest in techno; his affinity for the genre gained traction at the 2014 Movement festival in Detroit. Experiencing DJ performances by Maceo Plex and Voices From The Lake (as well as a b2b performance by Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers) sent Jim straight into the black hole that is techno music. It was this experience that drew Jim to the darker side of electronic music. His hard work and drive to connect with underground artists from around the world has landed Jim on bills with underground acts in the late night scene. Jim Beasley looks to showcase artists in his DJ sets that utilize a wide spectrum of sounds with both harshness and clarity because beautiful sounds come in the form of more than just soft and subtle.

Uun's techno blends widescreen grayscale imagery with propulsive dancefloor pressure. Whether crafting what Hardwax dubs "straight ahead techno juggernauts" or deep, introspective tools, his work is grounded in a masterful command of atmosphere and texture. 

Uun developed his interest in fringe sounds as a guitarist and drummer in his hometown of Kansas City before shifting his attention to electronic music in 2012. This led him to relocate to Detroit, where he spent seven years pushing deeper into the underground techno scene, refining his production and performance methods. Between the Midwest and  several periods in Berlin—another city he's found a deep connection to—he's honed a style that's allowed his music to nimbly navigate between different subgenres, "quietly infiltrating" the genre from multiple angles at once. 

Uun's sound and his ability to mold it into a variety of forms has captured the attention of lauded techno labels like Mord, Semantica, and Soma. On his own Ego Death imprint, he pushes past genre confines and deeper into his music's underlying themes, exploring existentialism, duality, and the role of the artist in the modern era. His first full length, 2022's Derealization, interrogated dreams through rebuilding memories of liminal spaces, and on his latest Ego Death release, 2024's Platform Decay, he laces his tracks with a poignant criticism of social media-driven cultural homogenization while doubling down on his own uncompromising sound. 

As a live performer, Uun distills years of his studio practice into cathartic sets that build off his productions while pushing them into exploratory new territory. His live show has taken him to legendary clubs like Berlin's Tresor, Tbilisi's Khidi, Detroit's Movement Festival, and Brookyln's Basement, and alongside the decade-plus of releases under his belt, it's safe to say Uun's infiltration of techno might not be so quiet for much longer.

A. Francisco Puerto, Techno DJ, born and raised in Bogotá, capital city of Colombia. 
After spending years in other careers related to art, I decided to focus my skills to something I think is the most important thing throughout my life, music!
Having an empirical formation and deep love for techno music, i begin my studies formally in the Escuela Moderna de Musica (EMM), directed by the well known Dj and producer from Bogotá Sebastian Mildenberg, and is there where I strengthened my knowledge and my career as a  DJ get started.
Since young, I was interested in the intensity of industrial sounds that i found out both in the dynamism of the UK Darkbeat and in the coldness of Swedish techno. Without leaving aside the large number of references that came from the USA, (Detroit and Chicago) and some others emerging from Spain. 
I've shared stage with important international artists such as: Birth Of Frequency, Developer, Oschlighter, Hans Bouffmhyre a.k.a. Secluded, May McLaren, Deedak and recently with the talented Headless Horseman, as well as a large number of local artists; Lega, Alquimista, Roman Arango, Frank D., John Dope, Le Conde, Minor Dott, Luigy Nova, Hall Guillen, LAMAT, Steve Noize, Alpha & Necromante, Chamanz, Nestor Guzman and Sergio Dueñas, among others. In 2017 joined the team of The Ritual Club in Ibagué, Colombia, as one of its resident DJs and participated in the important SYLUM cycle created by the The Hindie Corporation THC label, located in Bogotá.
For the past couple of years i've had to split my time between my born place and Buenos Aires (City that i love deeply), where i have worked as a promoter for the renowned nightclub UNDER CLUB and also improved his skills as a DJ, sharing invaluable moments with many of the pioneer artists in the Argentine scene.  
I've previously worked also as a promoter on several local labels such as The Hindie Corporation THC, Techsound, Insane Techno and black box. Currently advance my training as an electronic music producer and Manage my own label Bogotechno.

Craig Sopo's live shows are a rare bird in today's age of laptop jockeys and crossfader-less deejaying. Cutting his teeth in Detroit, his musical tastes range from 80's electro and ghetto-tech to acid house and techno.  In between crafting genre bending techno and face melting at dj shows, Craig also runs half of the More or Less ("MOL") imprint.  

His March 2012 release, Brohaus, uncovered a tongue-in-cheek alter ego known only as Techno Bro.  Techno Bro made his first vinyl-based splash with MOL’s Full Support.Will Play, released in May 2012.
