Bursting into 2021 with the hope and positive energy we all need, Spectrum present an absolute juggernaut of a track...

Blinding by name. Blinding by nature. Fresh from major missives on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Circus, Saved and Relief and heavyweight collaborations with the likes of Pete Tong, Alex Kennon makes his debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum with this rolling juggernaut anthem that joins the dots between the 2000s and 2020s, house and techno, clubs and festivals and all shades of lockdown jadedness in between. It's his most personal release to date, and one that has already found favour with Kolsch, who made an early version a regular set favourite.

''Blinding Lights' is for me not just a record, it's a melting pot of emotions through music, a kind of time machine taking me from the early 2000's to today. I was overjoyed when Joris said he wanted the track for his own label Spectrum. His remix and take on the track will make this project very special, an intimate perspective from a great artist and musician like himself combined with a track I am very proud of.'

An inspired slab of emotional electronic music that nods in all directions and comes with that great sense of momentum and surprise, both Alex's original and Joris's remix hit spots we forgot existed. Lighter times are coming and music like this will be our soundtrack.

Atlant hits a half century in style by heading to the Gulf of Naples for ATL050. Seasoned techno kingpin and longstanding protagonist of the Italian scene Sasha Carassi delivers two monstrous cuts featuring the voice of fellow Neopolitan Davide Famularo. The package is completed with a stellar remix from rising talent 8Kays.

Sasha Carassi should need no introduction to anyone familiar with quality electronic music. Born under the brooding shadow of stratovolcano Mount Vesuvius, Sasha has featured on heavyweights labels like Diynamic, Bedrock and Drumcode.

Superbly crafted lead track Babilonia' is a dark edgy expansive jewel aimed firmly at the dance-floor. Sasha cleverly builds the components, setting a flowing groove and using snippets of Davide's fine vocal to add tension before the synth hook takes over, captivating the listener. Already making it into the Rekordbox of top DJs, John Digweed dropped Babilonia on his recent Renaissance return with the other Sasha (legendary UK DJ).

Shiver' takes things deeper with Sasha Carassi again showcasing Davide Famularo's vocal. The driving indie electro style calls to mind Depeche Mode's Violator days. Shiver is one of those tracks that works its way into your mind, the melody and hook repeating over and over.

The EP closes out with a sublime remix from 8Kays who takes Shiver into 4/4 deep dark techno territory, making fine use of Sasha's stems while adding her own unique analogue sounds and sonic artistry.

Diynamic’s ‚Four To The Floor‘ series: what started in 2014 has now reached its 20th edition. 7 years of dance floor weapons, selected and road tested by Solomun. And so far, an end is not in sight.
Edition 20 kicks off with Grigoré’s „Upside Down“. A rapid heartbeat bass line, growing percussions and dramatic choir-esque synths - just the right ingredients for a melancholic dance floor affair. Up next is „Violent Location“ by Waltervelt & Kiko, a sinister soundtrack to a dystopian fantasy and pure after hour gem.
The third track is „Night Fly“ by Cortexmaltex. Its gentle vocals and fragile synth ripples over the driving percussions let you dwell in memories of lovers lost.

The last five years has seen Madloch in constant motion. The Belgian artist discovered electronic music in the early nineties and has been enthralled with it ever since. His early days as a local DJ in Belgium have led him to heights that he couldn't have imagined at the time. After creating the Sound Avenue imprint in 2011 Madloch has been on a momentous rise through the electronic music underground. The label which holds a meticulous discography of more than 75 releases now embodies two subsidiaries (Crossfade Sounds and 3rd Avenue) under its wing and each has become a benchmark for musical quality.Electronic music luminaries such as King Unique, James Teej, Cid Inc, Roger Martinez, Tim Engelhard and Dahu remixed the elusive productions of Madloch which received critical and commercial acclaim. An increasingly busy gig schedule found Madloch travelling to Argentina, Austria, Canada, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, United States and Mexico. At home in Belgium he remains one of the country's top underground DJs where he has shared the decks with 16 Bit Lolitas, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Matthew Dekay.

His talent and popularity is based on the surprising playlists inclusive of unreleased music that pushes him through to earn a popular spot in the groove industry Sri Lanka. It’s our 20th anniversary year at Anjunabeats and we’ve been inviting some old pals over for the party. Russia’s Ilnaz Tarkhanov, better known to many as Cramp, has added some polish to his 2011 progressive smash, ‘RU116’. 

The original, which featured on the Anjunabeats Volume 9 compilation, was debuted during Above & Beyond’s now legendary A State of Trance 500 set in Den Bosch, The Netherlands. 
‘RU116’ set our Anjunabeats messageboard ablaze, with fans scouring the web for the identity of its creator. 

As part of our 20 Years celebrations, we asked Cramp if he could update ‘RU116’ for modern club systems. Fans will have heard this 2020 update in Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 400 celebrations, recorded on the River Thames, London last September.
