Last Saturday we were happy to welcome multitalented musician, composer, remixer & turntablist Daniel Savio. For over 20 years Daniel has been putting out music on various independent labels touching on everything from dubby electronica to disco and hip hop. Daniel is also the pioneer and originator of the music style Skweee. On this occasion Daniel will play one set with "wrongspeeders" and druggy synth beats and one set with hip hop. Much obliged.

Lazercat - Dissociation Constant

Vertex Chant, a new alias for Leipzig-based Finnish producer Jukka Santanen. Previously known as a pioneer in the North European Skweee scene as V.C. and with his group Yöt. His new sound, drawing from Caribbean rhythmic patterns and deeper, almost dubby vibes, blasts with a full-on rave attitude and spooky atmospherics. His new material lies somewhere in the netherworld between dusty electro, tropical dancehall and nordic melancholy.

The first single from the project, Oracle, presents itself with a healthy low-end and a moody vibe with a piercing, stabby melody and a haunting vocal hook. Think of thick sub bass, ticking electro hi-hats and emotionally charged synths spread over a bouncy dancehall beat.

Rat Life Radio 14 with Neud Photo (LYL November 1st 2019)

Snack Atoms appears as EABE’s latest signing with a bombardment of uptempo electro rollers. The EP is based on live performances in Helsinki’s Kaiku and Leipzig’s Distillery, creating a pleasantly coherent trip through the four tracks.
The title cut sets the pace with a bouncy beat and a driving bassline joined by wistful synths, topped off with a catchy lead as the powerful track picks up to full throttle – like a maglev train gliding through a neon-lit cityscape, raindrops in the window turning quick into colourful traces. The rest expands on the expertly conceived formula, drawing from elements of dub, trance and contemporary bass music. Not much is known about the protagonist who prefers to travel in the shadows, but the effortless craftmanship and penchant for melody shown here suggest they’ve been lurking in the underground for some time already.
