SHDW & Obscure Shape return to their label From Another Mind with their six-track ‘Vergessene Welt’ EP, signalling the first material on the imprint for 18 months. Today we premiere ‘Der Urknall’ a gnarly piece of hardware heaven as the duo showcase a rough edged side to their production style.

Founded in 2015, the launch of SHDW and Obscure Shape’s label From Another Mind saw the Stuttgart-based DJ/producers establish themselves via a wealth of self-released material while welcoming a long list of high-profile remixers, including Rødhåd, James Ruskin and Dax J. However, the pair’s evolution saw new ventures explored and attention focused wider afield with the launch of their second label Mutual Rytm in 2022.

Utilising their A&R skills, the label has seen the duo curate and invite a selection of up-and-coming and established names while also delivering their first EP on the label in Summer, ‘Poetic Justice’. Exploring the techno sounds of tomorrow while drawing on influences of the past, the label quickly turned heads and has become a go-to for many. Following a brief hiatus, the attention is now turned back towards From Another Mind as the pair explore their origins and the signature FAM sound once again, opening the New Year with six fresh productions across their ‘Vergessene Welt’ EP.

‘Der Urknall’ see’s the Stuttgart duo flaunt their rugged style of techno that is straight forward, nasty and simply does not fuck around. Growling dub shaped stabs take front seat while pounding low end power pummels through in a rather cut throat and relentless manner. Top it off with punishing ride symbols, drunkenly delayed claps and sci-fi styled zaps to make a minimalistic groove that is filthy in the most satisfactory way.

Shlomi Aber drops his latest ‘Limelight’ EP on CLR this February. He kicks things oﬀ with title track, ‘Limelight’, a boomy kick drum setting the pace while fizzing synths light up the airwaves, spoken words bringing a sci-fi feel to this strobe-lit classic. Aber then drops a broken mix of ‘Limelight’, scuﬃng the kicks and bringing a raw funk feel already picked up by the likes of Radio Slave, Josh Wink, Dave Clarke, Alienata, and more. Last is Shlomi Aber’s 'Riot,' an earth-shattering, pure techno sound with rolling drums and sustained chords that will lock dancers in the groove and slowly melt their minds.

Active since 1994, Be As One boss Shlomi Aber has brought his unique style of Techno to esteemed imprints such as Cocoon, Ovum, Nonplus, Figure, and CLR. Returning to Chris Liebing’s imprint, Aber follows his month-long Beatport chart-topping 2022 ‘Can’t Sleep’ EP and subsequent 2023 ‘Remote 101’ EP with ‘Limelight’, another versatile package of quality Techno cuts.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists, including Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro, and more. It has also focused on developing newer acts in the scene, such as Risa Taniguchi, The Southern, and Klint.

VALHALLA is a House & Techno DJ/Producer from Fife, Scotland. His passion for music led him to learn the art of DJing at the young age of 11. A year later, he began teaching himself how to produce electronic music. 

In 2020, VALHALLA started his own record label, Groove Shack Records (www.grooveshackrecords.com). Since its inception, the label has signed talented artists such as MarAxe, DKult, Andy BSK, and Rory Hoy. In 2024, the label had its first radio airplay on BBC Music Introducing & BBC6 Music with Craig Charles with Rory Hoy’s Funky House track “Weekend Waiting”. 

VALHALLA's album DNA topped the Norwegian iTunes charts, coming in at #1 in Techno Albums & #29 in Techno Albums in the UK. The album's House single, "House of Tribe," was also featured on Spotify's own editorial playlists; Friday Crate Diggers and Dance Rising. He has also had three tracks chart in the Beatport top 50. 

VALHALLA frequently appears in the Beatport Top 100 charts, with numerous tracks making the list. His latest track, "Acid Storm," achieved notable success by reaching #9 on the Techno (Raw/Deep/Hypnotic) chart in December 2024.

His music has gained support from DJ Rush, Judge Jules, Mauro Picotto, Paul Oakenfold, Sam Paganini, Joseph Capriati, The Southern, Alex Di Stefano, Marco Carola, Argy (UK), Sonique, Celic, Stonebridge, DJ BL3ND, and many more. 

In 2022, VALHALLA remixed Get A Little Deeper by 90s rave legends The Rhythmic State. The remix came in at #4 in the iTunes Techno Chart - UK and #22 in the iTunes Techno Chart - Germany. 

His high-octane DJ sets are something to be experienced, building an ever-growing crescendo of energy and rhythm that packs a mighty punch! 

VALHALLA also hosts his own radio show, The Residency with VALHALLA, on Scotland's popular dance music station Beat 106 Scotland, aired via www.beat106scotland.com, the station's app, and on DAB radio in Glasgow.
