ALBUM MEANING:
Lowlight Magic by DROPLITZ is a bass music voyage to the bottom of the soul’s ocean to transmute dark energies into magic. Only through embracing the full spectrum of emotion, do you become buoyant enough to rise from the lowlight and stay afloat.

This twenty two song flood will wash away worries and replace them with dreams. It’s magical! Ethos of personal transformation drift through every song as the underlying motif. Both albums embody wave and trap music primarily with distinct splashes of phonk, deep dubstep, and future garage for an impactful downtempo journey.

Together Lowlight Magic is a story about transformation and achieving inner peace. Lowlight Magic reveals the dichotomy between the heart and mind. As stand-alone albums, “Lowlight LP” is symbolic of the heart and the “Magic LP” reflects the mind. The entire experience is filled to the brim with meaningful quotes, aquatic harmonies, danceable beats, and liquid bass lines suspended in an underwater, urban setting.

RELEASE DATE SIGNIFICANCE:
The release date is a profound and special time of the year. 11.22.2022 was strategically chosen through intuition back in April of 2022. Lowlight Magic being released on this date with angel numbers 1’s and 2’s allows manifestation and balance to potentially bless the listener. November, is when winter hits, when the seasonal sadness hits, when the cold hits, when the eclipse can happen, when the people begin to grow tired as the days grow shorter and darker. Lowlight Magic is to give way to the space needed during these melancholy times.

The Oxidized compilation series is a charity project we have been working on since the inception of The Rust Music, with Oxidized, Vol. 1 being our very first label release in February 2017. At the end of each year we select a new charity, aid organization, or non-profit, to which all proceeds from the series are donated. In the past we have donated to organizations focusing on natural disaster aid, environmental restoration and preservation, as well as civil/human rights advocates and COVID-19 relief efforts on local, national, and international levels. 2022 proceeds from the Oxidized series will be donated to support women’s rights to healthcare and access to abortion, with this year’s donation to be determined towards the end of 2023.

Across the last 6 years, we've recurrently tapped into a network of both our roster talent and our close associates across the experimental electronic music spectrum to craft our first two Oxidized compilations. Now, for the final entry in the Oxidized Trilogy, we've brought together 32 producers, songwriters, and musicians from the US, the UK, Germany and Georgia to craft 28 tracks that cross through a medley of motifs in Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Downtempo, and more. Embarking on a journey of the senses, Easyjack delivers his most fibrous music to date through Hybrid Cluster Vol. 1. Sauntering across a range of tempos and degrees of intensity, this EP channels a uniform atmosphere through its composition and laser precision synthesis. Easyjack’s grounding in the art and science of high integrity engineering shines throughout the entire release, resulting in crystal clear transients and silky stereo imaging.

Hybrid Cluster Vol. 1 spins itself on a sound design axis; each track twists a bevy of similar tones and textures into an entirely new soundscape. The opening track “Iridescence” ebbs and flows between sultry melodies and enveloping bass weight, while the follow up tune “Skirmish” pounds speaker cones with syncopated synth cuts and processed hip-hop rhythms. “Hybrid” is the dance-floor-ready weapon of choice, drenching break-beat in resonant frequencies and juggled sub jaunts. “Azimuth” relaxes the atmosphere, utilizing a suite of round-edged textures and soft, tonal synthesis to paint melodies across the frequency spectrum. The swells and audio artifacts of “Temporal Symmetry” fold into themselves like a torus, giving the track a distinct rhythmic surface to reflect the developing melodies. Bringing the journey to a close, “Parallax Dub” is an all-encompassing stereo ball of synthesis and modality, with complimentary phrases slinging off of one another with mounting momentum.
