"To celebrate international women's month, I have curated a special mixtape of female artists/ female inspired music for all my girls out there.  This mixtape is the results from a recent event that I played at called FACT. Showcasing some amazing Femme Artists in Cape Town. Please check them out on instagram @femmeartscapetown where they bring awareness and highlights all the beautiful female artists in the city. 
This mixtape will take you back to simpler days where we would constantly be dancing in our room, singing into a brush , having the time of our lives. Greetings friends, and welcome back to an all new season of Mercury Landing.

That's right, we are back! With all new guests and all new mixes for your listening enjoyment. I’m so excited to present our next guest. But first! I just want to take a quick moment to thank everyone that continued to support the show during this time away.

We know it’s been a little while but we’re back and back full circle! I’m not sure if you remember but the last episode to air was the Galentine’s day special, so it’s only right that we start today’s show with one of our favorite gals - @djemelle.

Emelle is a super talented selector based out of the Bay Area, CA. Inspired by her Egyptian roots, she takes us on a journey through a variety of sounds making for some truly special mixing that’ll transport you all over the world.

Emelle is also the creative mind behind one of the Bay Area's top dance parties called “Butter”. A party that invites people to come as they are. To dance, sing and celebrate themselves to the tune of the best future beats, house, Afrobeats, r&b and more. You can catch her and special guests at Butter this February 23rd in San Francisco at the Felix. Mercury Landing Episode #031 Feat. Emelle

In celebration of Hip Hop's 50th year, we've teamed up with London based ‘Classic Material’ to present a chronologically themed series of mixtapes celebrating the history of recorded Rap music, mixed by Chris Read. This seventh bonus mix delves into Mid 90s R&B, specifically the pairing of R&B vocals with classic Hip Hop production, ’Hip Hop Soul’ if you prefer, the natural evolution from New Jack Swing, covered in ones of the previous mixes in this series. The mix features production from many of those frequently associated with the sound, The Untouchables, Sean Combes et al, alongside names from the Hip Hop underground who dabbled in R&B: DJ Premier, Easy Mo Bee, The Beatnuts, Salaam Remi and others. 16 Bar rap verses abound – AZ, KRS One, Grand Puba, Notorious BIG, Nas and many lesser known all appear. Also featured only on this mix is the pairing of R&B Acapellas with Hip Hop production from the era. Artwork pays homage to the classic Bad Boy Records company sleeve.
