I hope you all enjoy my latest seasonal mix, this one in the last throws of winter. I made this mix while prepping to come to Australia, which I think came across in the song selection. I can feel the warmth of the sun and the first hint of springtime on the horizon.

This is the first time in the history of Desert Hearts that we will be returning to a location 2 times in a row and we can't tell you how excited we are for that. Despite our 2 Year Anniversary Festival being one of the most legendary parties of all time, we've had the chance to dial our Spring Festival to heights you wouldn't believe. You can expect more art, more love, and our best dance floor vibe yet. This is our 6th Desert Hearts Festival so we've really gotten the hang of it how to do it proper. This isn't just another meaningless party. This is about finding a new kind of freedom. This is about a place where you reach your mental breaking point and come to a realization that is meaningful at exactly the right place and exactly the right time. Desert Hearts is about coming together in love, collectively, individually, and spiritually. This is about the healing of land and souls. This is about touching heaven, even if only for just a few days. What we are doing is real. It's more real and more true than anything we've ever been privileged enough to be a part of. It's time to wake up into a dream world where real life is mystically blissful--to a place where we won't ever want to fall asleep because reality is finally better than our wildest dreams. Hailing from San Diego, Everardo Lopez aka EVLO has been rising through the ranks of the scene and leaving a lasting impression on the crowds he's played for. Originally beginning his career as a DJ after falling in love with the sounds of Drum & Bass, he has been honing his skills behind the decks and found a passion for other genres including house and techno.

Working with notable San Diego promoters SD Union and United By Bass, he's taken the stage to play shows at venues like Spin Nightclub, Blonde Bar, and Avenue in PB. Additionally, he's played on nights that have also featured artists like Gina Turner, Reid Speed, Brennen Grey, and more while also teaming up with some of our favorites like Memo Rex, SUSiO, and Mitch Dodge!

VNSSA has always had a passion for music even as a child. The Newport Beach native now calls Los Angeles home and has fully immersed herself in the local electronic scene. Although Santa never gave her the turntables she wanted at a young age, she soon found herself drumming in local rock and indie rock bands. From there she learned to DJ, and started performing at local clubs and house parties.

Her debut single was released in early 2018 and she has since released multiple singles and EPs on labels such as Dirtybird Records, Higher Ground, Techne, Rules Don't Apply, Sweat It Out, Realm, and Trippy Ass Technologies, including a Beatport #1 with “Word” a single in collaboration with Walker & Royce on Black Book Records/HotBoi. Catching the platform's attention, she was later named a Beatport “Next” artist, and received further support from tastemaker platforms like This Song Is Sick and Data Transmission.

Her live sets cover the length and breadth of house, breaks, and techno, although don't be surprised to hear some classic disco as well. VNSSA performs regularly at well-known venues all over the world. In addition to playing her own shows, she has performed with numerous prominent acts such as Chris Lake, Claptone, Destructo, Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Nora En Pure, Dombresky, Walker & Royce, Cassian, Fisher, AC Slater, and many more. 

Most recently, she released murky tech house number “In The Dark” on the first-ever Femme House compilation on Insomniac Records. The eleven-track package is built around the ethos focused on equality and empowerment.  

Looking ahead, VNSSA is set to drop an EP on Diplo's esteemed Higher Ground imprint, a milestone release for this fast-rising talent. She will also perform at some of the biggest festivals in North America in the coming months, including Outside Lands, Imagine Festival, Nocturnal Wonderland, Seismic Dance Event, not to mention her first ever headline tour.

VNSSA does not exist in the world of music because it is her choice, she exists in it because it is her calling.
