Jakob Mäder is a Stuttgart DJ and producer who also performs live. He started producing in 2012 but considers himself doing it more professionally just a couple years later. Being asked about his genre choices, he would rather describe it in only one word: House. But on the other hand, his musical interest often spans across different genres such as: Ambient, Disco, House, Acid and sometimes even techno-inspired music. It certainly offers his listeners some surprising moments every now and then.

Together with his Midnight Service crew, he is organising events with artists such as Johannes Albert, Philipp Schultheis or Panthera Krause, to name just a few.
From stripped down Ambient to classic house-inspired Deep House or experimental Breakbeat productions, his output as a producer reflects his eclectic taste as a DJ. 
Besides crafting his very own tracks, cheerful Disco tracks result from his artistic work from time to time. In 2021 he started his own label Constant Change. His personal highlight so far in 2022 was playing a 4-hour set at Sisyphos. Otherwise he is on the road here and there and happy to share music with like-minded people.

We start the weekend with this banger of a mix and are happy to welcome Jakob Mäder as the newest addition to our Vacanza Radio!

Jessica, better known as Julita Just, is a Leipzig based DJ and part of the Aroma+ collective/label from Jena.
Someone once described her sound like this: "Whether it's super cute Popcorn-Disco, funky Pop or uncompromisingly waltzing House, when Jessi is behind the decks she always leaves a valley of joy and ecstasy behind." 
In her own words it's “funky-disco-future-house-music” and at the moment she also likes to play Dark Disco.

Since she started DJing in 2019 she has played quite a few gigs. The list included for example last year's Wurzelfestival and this year's Funkloch. One of her highlights this year was playing the Golden Dance at Distillery because of the incomparable atmosphere.

We will close the chapter of 2022 with this awesome mix and start a new one - hopefully with a bunch of fun events together. Have a lovely start into 2023!

//Was bedeutet deine Musik für dich?//
In erster Linie begleitet mich Musik ganz intensiv, vom frühen Gitarrenunterricht zum Ballettunterricht und war in schönen, wie herausfordernden Zeiten meine große Stütze. Zunächst ist Musik Befreiung und Selbstermächtigung. Indem ich auflege, kann ich meine Emotionen verarbeiten. Außerdem kann ich mich kreativ ausprobieren und Neues entdecken. Und auch der Aspekt, dass ich als FLINTA mir Raum in einer Männerdomäne schaffen kann, empowert mich!

//Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?//
Ich kuratiere meine Sets immer ähnlich einer Kunstausstellung. Zu Beginn gibt es ein Thema oder Gefühl, meist wird dies sowohl im Opening, Peak und am Schluss als Motiv aufgegriffen. Dann baue ich weitere Lieder drumherum und versuche mein Set möglichst farbenfroh und divers zu gestalten.
Ich liebe Recherche über Genres und Stilrichtungen und ich liebe es zu “diggen”. Einfach oldschool in Plattenläden oder digital auf Spotify, Soundcloud zu stöbern bereitet mir große Freude. Oder beim Tanzen im Club mich einfach treiben zu lassen und mich durch die Sets anderer DJs inspirieren zu lassen.

//Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern?//
Ganz klar immer noch: less sexism, homophobia and more safer spaces! Ich wünsche mir eine offene, niedrigschwellige und freundliche Clubkultur.

To be honest: there are a few mistakes in the set, but the vibe in the club was so electrifying and also its my very first live Club-Gig in Leipzig that it would have been a pity not to upload the set. And that's what live gigs are all about: The perfect moment in the imperfect.

No better way to describe Liesa’s eclectic style meandering between Dark/Italo Disco, Acid House and always with some Synthwave-cherries on top. Her driving sound leaves no room for chin-stroking but is played to stab.

Bavarian-bred, Berlin-based, Liesa started her residency at the famous Hamam Nights in Augsburg in 2017. After moving to Berlin, she swiftly became part of the local scene and also played in her side-project GrizzLiesa. 

In 2021, Liesa joined the lovely family of Cologne’s &&booking. She currently plays gigs all over Germany.

ANKA B2B Möbelnder Pop – Live-Set @ Italo Island, Conne Island, Leipzig

Goldie Palm reist in ihren Sets durch einige Genres der elektronischen Musik. Besonders groß ist ihre Liebe aber für süßen, vocal-lastigen & bouncy House und Indie-Dance, immer geführt von starken basslines und aufbauendem Tempo. Musik war schon immer großes Thema, ob beim singen, auf dem dance floor und seit einigen Jahren auch beim mixen - wenn die Auswahl stimmt ist Herzklopfen vorprogrammiert. Seit über zwei Jahren hosted sie die online Radio Show Palm Paradise auf RBL Berlin. Ende 2021 hat sie sich für einen lang überfälligen Tapetenwechsel und den Umzug nach Leipzig entschieden und wurde kurz darauf Teil der Vacanza Crew, mit der sie Events plant und eine wöchentliche Podcast Reihe organisiert.
