The various styles of rap and production along with Frank and Kwame's contrasting rap styles keep this EP sounding nothing but unique and beautifully thought out.

The latest instalment of the Hold Tight Records digital catalogue comes courtesy of a brand new member of the family, Subtle Mind. Hailing from west coast USA, this exciting and versatile producer has been turning heads around the globe with his unique take on dubstep and dub wise styles. Incorporating melodic and experimental elements alongside solid bass weight and deep atmospheres, this four track EP takes the listener on a journey through Subtle Mind’s world. 

The first track, ‘Warrior Mentality’, is a collaboration with San Francisco based bass weight wizard Saule, another talented producer making huge waves around the 140/dubstep scene worldwide. A backbone of solid and rolling drums is accompanied by an entrancing and deep sub bass, which has already been doing damage on sound systems worldwide. This is followed by the title track ‘Chiefin’, an absolute weapon – or evil bubble machine – already being supported by dubstep heavyweights worldwide. ‘Dope n Pinot’ sees Subtle Mind explore deep and growling bass lines coupled with intricate fx, and ‘SFV OG’ brings the EP to a close with it’s dystopian atmospheres and futuristic grime/trap elements.

HTD006 takes inspiration from the roots of UK sound system culture along with various styles of global electronic music, representing the Hold Tight ethos; presenting new sounds that draw heavy influence from the music’s history. We are very proud to be able to share Subtle Mind’s latest release with you, and look forward to hearing your feedback.
