Ом (санскр. ॐ) — в индуистской и ведической традиции — сакральный звук, изначальная мантра. Часто интерпретируется как символ божественной троицы Брахмы, Вишну и Шивы, квинтэссенция Слова. В соответствии с ведическим наследием, считается, что звук ом был первым проявлением не явленного ещё Брахмана, давшим начало воспринимаемой Вселенной, произошедшей от вибрации, вызванной этим звуком.

Звук «Ом» является самым священным звуком в индуизме. Помимо олицетворения индуистской божественной троицы, он, сам по себе, является наивысшей мантрой, символизируя собой Брахман (высшую реальность) и Вселенную как таковую. Три его составляющих (А, У, М) традиционно символизируют Создание, Поддержание и Разрушение — категории космогонии Вед и индуизма. Считается также, что три звука символизируют три уровня существования — рай (сварга), землю (мартья) и подземное царство (патала). Они также символизируют три состояния сознания — грезу, сон и явь, — три времени суток и три способности человека: желание, знание и действие.

В Ведах звук «Ом» является звуком Солнца и света. Он символизирует собой движение вверх, приближение души к высшим сферам.

Священное значение мантры «Ом» в индуизме трудно переоценить. Практически все священные тексты индуистской и ведической традиции начинались и заканчивались этим звуком.

В гаудия-вайшнавизме составляющие звука Ом также указывают: А — на Кришну, У — на Его энергию, М — на все живые существа.

Indeed, many great performances have been recorded, and we are glad to have them. But I think the greatest performances always elude, the camera, the tape recorder, the pen. They happen in the middle of the night when the musician plays for one special friend under the moonlight, they happen in the dress rehearsal just before the play opens. The fact that improvisation vanishes makes us appreciate that every moment of life is unique - a kiss, a sunset, a dance , a joke. None will ever recur in quite the same way. The POAN Collaborations EP is a journey into musical kinship. It is a project spawned from the idea that we can create so much more potent art when we come together and combine our strengths to create something that we could never create on our own. These collaborations were birthed out of the musical genius of Lorenzo Mantovani of the ambient instrumental project POAN (his project with Giacomo Barbari). Lorenzo put together seven different loop packs using his wide range of instruments which were then passed on to these producers to create something totally new out of the recordings. Each track takes on a whole new life of it’s own with the unique beat driven approach of each individual producer. The collaborations range from high energy dance tracks to deep hypnotic introspective journeys with everything in between. May this collaborative effort be a testament to the potency of coming together as a collective musical family.
