am I destined to feel this low all the time?

every tear that I cry
chips away at the sediment and stone
that surrounds my golem heart.

each drop,
trickling off the cheeks,
through the cracks of my stone flesh,
and into my chest.

it's as if I was summoned via incantation
my soul, trapped in this gray rock body,
every step I take, heavy and hard.

As long as my rock stays intact,
I survive. And it feels like...
I've been here for centuries,
even though it's only been a few decades.

water calls to me like suicide calls to the abyss of the mind,

I'll slowly take my steps,
as my hardened feet crunch the leaves
and snap every twig.

I found it...
and as unfortunate as it is,
I've never felt more sure of anything.

So as I begin
to walk to my final resting place
underneath the waterfall
of human seclusion,
I will let this water overtake me.

And as I erode,
and my arms and legs start to deteriorate
and as the markings on my visage
that once resembled a face fades,
The only thing I can think about now is...
Did I make the right choice?
