Alchemy , the EP title single, is what we can call it a pure piece of art, a track that mixes melodic techno synths with indie dance like percussion enveloped in tons of atmospheric elements. A dark hypnotic vocal together with a powerful rolling bass line emerges its listener’s into blissful underground peak time euphoria in the dance floor! Simply Timeless!  

Odd Perception , the second title of the EP, brings a more subtle organic house vibe, with lots of tribal percussive elements and ethnic sounds. Its introspective breakdown brings a complex constructed harmony full of fat analog synths, showing the amazing creative potential and the genius sound design by the future rising star in Maty Owl.

Merging sultry melodies and complementary percussion. ‘Oram’ opens up with an operatic female melody that makes the track stand out from the pack! 

Label boss ‘Michael Hooker’ dials up the bpm, adding a 4/4 breakbeat feel to the percussion, spiraling effects and intensity with the builds and drops. Maintaining the melodies and operatic goodness. He layers the synth leads that air on a classic trance tip.

"Paul Angelo and Don Argento return to Tash’s Movement Recordings with a new EP entitled ‘Dear Cave’. Hailing from Cyprus, the much loved duo have become a core part of the Greek imprint since making their debut in 2017 with a contribution to the label’s ‘Technical Progress’ Vol. 7 collection. Paul and Don have since gone on to appear an additional four times while also finding a home on Beat Boutique, Dopamine Music, Sound Avenue and Soundteller Records. Now following a stunning remix of Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's 'Rumors' the duo lands back on Movement with a three track artist showcase.

Beginning with the title track 'Dear Cave’ Paul and Don continue to explore the dark progressive minded ethos which has made them such in demand artists. Energetic and fluid, punchy beats and perfectly contoured bass unite for a robust low end. Dramatic pulses and piercing stabs add mightily to the rhythmic core as layers of percussion build momentum with each successive loop. Enticing yet mysterious, ghostly atmospheres take the narrative into a tense break, melting down to an arcane rumble before a tasteful build cues a powerful drop.

'Absence' follows suit with a more minimalistic yet equally mystical approach. Acidic rhythms carry the rolling groove while haunting atmopheres sweep across the stereo field. Once again drama and tension are at a premium here, as a timely break and tasteful modulation resets the groove for a chugging finale.

The third and final selection 'Day Walker' finds the duo lightening the mood just a touch to round out the release. It’s meaty kick and rolling underbelly provide a perfect balance of warmth and drive. Playful arps layer the commanding groove as astral effects and icy overlays steal the air. The narrative shifts with a second act of broken beats, transferring energy into a short break before a rush of noise sparks a smooth and reflective final act. It caps off a welcome return to Movement Recordings for Paul and Don, a production duo who continue to operate at their creative peak."

Burgeoning techno duo Bonsai ring in 2021 with ‘Rule of Two’, a highly-anticipated 3-track EP that features atmospherically driving production elements from start-to-finish.The latest entrancing endeavor to come from the pair directly follows their hard-hitting remix of Galestian’s ‘Worlds Apart’, released in mid-September of last year, as well as their acclaimed 3-track ‘Event Horizon’ EP from the month prior. Out now on venerated Berlin-based imprint Steyoyoke Recordings, the ‘Rule of Two’ EP is available to listen to across all streaming platforms.

‘Forward Unto Darkness’ kicks off the EP with contemplatively brooding, elongated soundscapes. Repetitively stabbing synths, a propulsive rhythm, and infectious beat maintain the energy throughout with ease, and characterize much of the rest of this sonically enticing techno tour de force.

Five months since their last release, the new 3-track ‘Rule of Two’ EP serves as yet another prime addition to the rising production pair’s growing catalogue. Kicking off 2021 on a high note, Bonsai sets an exhilarating precedent for the remainder of the year and beyond.
