Berlin-based CHOREOPHILA developed his passion for electronic music at old school raves, hence his musical style is strongly influenced by the period of the mid 90s to early aughts. CHOREOPHILA means „love of dancing“ and this credo defines his sound. Spanning a wide genre range from house to trance he aims to create uplifting energies that will make you move your body. 

He is a resident dj at HRA (@hraberlin) and recently started his own podcast- and soon-to-be event series Juicy Culture (@juicyculture).

//What does your music mean to you?//
For me personally, music is just a way of setting the scene. Whether it is playing in the background, spicing up mundane day-to-day tasks, or if I actively listen to it when DJ’ing. Music always has emotive qualities. I love the way certain atmospheres can be created with the right track selection and arrangement. It is always fun to see your musical concept in action at the club, where it always just hits differently than at home. Especially, how the music affects the crowd. Which tracks/parts of the sets are the fan favorites is never quite clear beforehand, making each gig something special.

//What inspires you?//
I was mainly inspired to start DJ’ing and learn more about the technical aspects of electronic music by other FLINTA* artists. 

//What has to change within the scene in your opinion?//
The two most important aspects would be a more equal distribution of playtimes between male and FLINTA* artist and a reliable Awareness concept at every party. Especially a good Awareness concept could promote a more pleasant and safe environment for everyone. There should be no place for shirtless machos that exhibit improper behavior, making FLINTA* persons entirely unsafe and uncomfortable.
